Chapter 18

The group of WetClan cats soon gathered around Fuzzstar as the sun slowly started to set. Honeypaw anxiously awaited by the apprentice den to meet up with Howlpaw who had gone to the dirtplace. He let out a sigh of relief when he noticed the familiar black tabby pelt. Howlpaw squeezed through his Clanmates to reach Honeypaw. The two toms friendly greeted each other before looking back at their leader.

The brown tabby she-cat looked down upon her Clanmates from HighTree and swished her tail. The sound of waves crashes, the squeals of a seagull from the distance, and the light illuminating from behind commanded attention to the leader. "All cats going to Gathering, come with me, we are leaving now." She said before jumping off and kinking her tail for the rest to follow.

Honeypaw and Howlpaw walked side-by-side and noticed that Boragewisp had poked her head from the medicine den to murmur safe traveling. She had announced the day before that she would watch over Amberbite since their wounds seem to make her nervous. Riverclaw walked over to the she-cat with fear in their eyes and said, "Please make sure that they are safe." Boragewisp stared back into Riverclaw's hazel eyes before nodding.

"I will." She replied.

Riverclaw seemed a little more reassured with that and returned back to walk with Ashmoss. Honeypaw's whiskers twitched. Heh, Rivermoss for life. He thought with amusement. Howlpaw noticed to where the ginger tabby was looking at and sighed, slapping his face with a paw. Honeypaw let out a dramatic sigh, copying Howlpaw who gave him 'the look' in retaliation. The two apprentices laughed before realizing that they needed to catch up.

Wolfblotch looked at the two apprentices with an amused look. "Well, you two seem to be having fun." She joked.

Honeypaw rolled his eyes. "We're apprentices. We're supposed to have fun in our youth." He responded. Wolfblotch only smiled however.

Not too long after, the WetClan cats soon came upon the Gathering place and Wolfblotch and Fuzzstar went to take their place by the Great Willow. It's so strange that Boragewisp isn't here. Honeypaw thought to himself. Looking around, he noticed that the only other Clan there was BubbleClan. Huh, I wonder where the others are. He wondered.

Searching for the group of apprentices, Howlpaw nudged him. Honeypaw blinked. "What is it?" He asked.

Howlpaw pointed to a group of familiar cats over there. "They're over there. Come on!" He mewed before padding off toward their friends.

Honeypaw bounced to his paws. "Wait for me!" He exclaimed and dashed forward. Leaving a bit of a trail of dust. The two WetClan apprentices soon joined the group of familiar faces and noticed that Clawstrike was also there, despite being a warrior and was talking to Ridgepaw. Or whatever his warrior name was, since he was twelve moons old.

Fadedpaw, a dorsal-striped black she-cat, bounced forward and tackled Honeypaw to the ground. "Hi, Honeypaw!" She cried out happily but was almost immediately ripped off of Honeypaw by Cloudpaw.

After Honeypaw had been freed, Cloudpaw turn to look at the WetClan apprentices with a tired look. "Sorry about that, she's a wildfire sometimes." The pale ticked she-cat said.

"I'm right here."

"I'm aware." Cloudpaw said and looked back at Fadedpaw. Though when the two she-cats caught each other's gazes, it was long, and something flickered between them. Cloudpaw shook her head as though she was trying to clear it and face the toms, but there was a smile on her face. Honeypaw and Howlpaw looked at each other, with Honeypaw giving him a smirk.

Howlpaw flicked his tail. "It's fine. I have a troublemaker myself." He said, nudging Honeypaw.

Honeypaw blinked in shock and gasped dramatically. "Oh how could you Howlpaw! Don't you realize how hurtful that is?" He said playfully and dramatically, falling onto his Clanmate. Howlpaw rolled his eyes and mouthed 'You see what I mean?' to the other cats who giggled.
