WTF, Friends! I don't know what to say about the news of the show being canceled. My biggest hope is the writers finally decide to give Surrera happiness – truly it's what they deserve and what all of us loyal fans deserve.

PREVIOUSLY...

Clearing her throat and sensing their window of opportunity closing, Andy asked, "Do we need to talk about this?"

"You attacking me last night?" A sexy grin formed, as Robert joked.

"What?!" her eyes bugged. "That is definitely not what happened."

Robert laughed at her response, slipped his shoes on and walked around to her side of the bed.

"Relax, I'm teasing." His tone was easy and casual. "And...if you're good, I'm good."

Andy searched his eyes, she wasn't sure what for, but knew instinctively there was only one right answer here. This wasn't the time or place for her to think about the big complicated feelings bubbling up under the surface... which making love had only expanded.

"I'm good," she lied and ran a hand through her loose, messy waves.

She was very, very not good. Well her body felt good, but that is not what they were talking about and they both knew it.

Robert leaned down and placed a quick, chaste kiss on Andy's lips. "I'll see you on shift, then."

With that, he left her apartment and headed home to shower before starting work.

LATER THAT MORNING...

"It's come to my attention that Captain Beckett will not be returning to his post." Ross stated matter-of-factly as she joined the A-Shift for morning line up. "That means the permanent Captaincy spot is officially open.

It had taken more internal and emotional fortitude, than Ross wanted to acknowledge, to come today.

The press, slightly less aggressively, was still hounding her. It seemed Robert's statements had helped. There was more talk about sexism and a double standard versus her being a sex-crazed, power hungry abuser.

A more nuanced perspective was a small miracle, but she wasn't sure it'd be enough though. As of that morning, the mayor was still urging her to consider stepping down or at the very least taking a leave of absence until this, "all blew over."

She wasn't an idiot and she had enough experience playing the political game that she understood, if she willingly gave up her job, even temporarily, she'd never get it back.

Not to mention the fact that she was pretty sure her relationship was over. Yes she had asked Robert to take more time and rethink his position, but something in her said it was a pointless ask.

He was done and they were over.

She was never one to paint herself as the victim, but dammit it just seemed like she couldn't catch a break. Like dominos falling, one thing after another seemed to be dropping in ways that kept her on the losing end.

Despite both Andy and Maya offering kind smiles that morning, it was hard not to feel like she was standing in front of a firing squad.

Looking directly at Theo, she added, "Ruiz, I assume you're interested."

"Yes, Ma'am," he responded quickly, avoiding the heated glare he felt coming from Andy's direction.

"Herrera," Ross said with a nod. It was a statement more than a question.
