I squinted my eyes at the intensity of light when I opened them. Janet sat by me on my bed with her eyes glued to her phone's screen, a cheerful smile on her face. My lips felt heavy as I muttered

           "Jane..."

Her face lit up more as she turned her face towards me.

        "You're awake !"

She carefully shifted my hair away from my eyes.
        "I'm proud of you T "

Damn even my brain was still very much asleep cos for few seconds I didn't know what I was supposed to say .

       "What happened to me ?"

Janet sighed, dropping her phone on my bedside table briefly.

"You got into a fight again..
but you're not going to Greyfields"

On hearing this, fear gripped me I tried to sit up and recline on my pillow.

"How come I'm not going to
       Greyfields after getting into another
       fight? Did miss Klein die?"

I asked alarmed because as far as I  knew, miss Klein was dead serious when she said she'd ship me off to Greyfields if I got into another fight. How come she changed her mind?. My thoughts were interrupted by Daniel as he walked in after a brief knock.

" Miss Klein is proud of you T"

Daniel said, a smile on his face as he lowered a bowl of grapes on the bedside table, pushing it towards me.

" What happened to my nanny? "

I asked with an air of uncertainty. Janet smiled again and started talking

" You were so close to hitting Tom but I'm
happy I and Dan showed up in time to
stop you and I'm glad you listened.
You were caught off guard, ended
up flying through the air with a kick to
the abdomen as soon as you let go of Tom's
hand which you had held when he tried to
       hit you "

I couldn't believe she'd just narrated the scene to me but either ways, the whole thing became clear to me as memories of the whole ordeal flushed back. I remembered everything how he had hungered for a fight ..... Damn! I should have broken his loose lips, I thought. But then I smiled and partly hugged Jane. It was a good thing I didn't hit him. At least I still had my two best friends and that was the only thing that mattered.

"Thank you...and thank you too Dan "

"It's fine, you know we'll always be
there when you need us. "

" That reminds me though, where the
heck were you when I texted you J?"

She didn't say a word she simply looked at Dan and j didn't need to be told why she didn't reply my text or show up as agreed.

   "Don't blame me, I can't resist her "

He said in surrender and I shook my head at his confession.

  "Don't worry you'll understand when
you get yourself a good boyfriend "
