For period 5 I was teaching History, and history was always meh to me. Yadda yadda yadda, stab, stab, stab, you're going to die, and you too. Thinking about it now made me want to cry, I couldn't handle any more death.
But I loved it.
But I feared it.
But I loved it.
I stood in front of the classroom, shoulders as heavy as ever. Look at all of them... look at each of these people directly in the eyes... each and every one of these pairs of eyes has seen so many things, and each and every one would be unique to the person. Each of these people in front of me had their own life and was so beautifully unique, it was difficult to fully comprehend. Each of them was a whole person just like me with years of memories, a deep personality, and a whole life ahead of them.
I was the only one in this classroom that had nothing in the future.
Now, what would we be learning in this cursed lesson? All of my previous lessons were dreadfully gory, so I knew this one would be too. I had gotten used to constant fear, shock and horror leaving me numb to any surprises these lessons would give me. It had become obvious to everyone at this point that these lessons were designed to be like the scene of a horror movie, it had all been meticulously planned out by the higher ups, or the head teachers specifically to disturb all of us.
This lesson was about...
Ancient torture and execution methods. Huh... I had a feeling I should have expected that. Each time I was desensetised to something, it made me shiver and formed a new kind of fear, a fear of myself.
So, what was there? The Brazen bull, Iron maiden, Judas cradle, heretics fork, thumbscrew, crucifiction, rack, rat torture, breaking wheel... If I remember correctly the first person to die by Brazen bull was the creator...
And I proceeded to teach the class emotionlessly and flawlessly.
