(Hollis)

"Hello?" She answered.

"Hey Elle."

"What's so important?" She asked, I heard shuffling, and then a door closing.

"Why did Kate ask me about going to your place? Did you tell her? Did you think it would be funny to make her mad? Get me in trouble?" I didn't want to get mad at her, but thers a certain line that can't be crossed.

"I didn't tell her." She said simply.

"Then who did?" I half-shouted, getting irritated.

"I found your bracelet in my kitchen, I put it on and forgot to take it off before I went to work."

"You wore my bracelet?" Something about that made me want her more than I already did, which I didn't think was possible.

That first day I saw Elle, I knew she was special. She wasn't the kind of girl who tried really hard. She was easy going. I could tell she would be the kind of girl who would be okay wasting Friday nights with me, watching old movies.

I came back down to earth when she spoke: "What happened Hollis?" She asked, taking on a soft tone to her voice.

"We got in a fight."

"And..."

"We're taking a break." I knew that it was over between Kate and I. Honestly, Kate was just a little something to keep me busy. She wore too much make-up and was really demanding. She insisted we have a short time out and think about things, and that I could call her when I was ready.

"Oh Hollis, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do anything..."

"Elle, hon, calm down, its okay."

"It is?"

"It is."

I asked her if she wanted to meet me somewhere, and she said yes. I told her to meet me at a bar a block form her house. She agreed, and we hung up.

I felt something that might be an equivelant to butterflies, if it wasn't totally gay. I quickly shaved, put on a freshly washed pair of jeans, and my John Lennon tee.

When I met her, she look fabulous. She met my eyes and beamed at me. I walked over to her slowly, taking a deep breath.

Don't screw this up Hollis...

"Hi." She said. I could tell I was smiling at her like an idiot, and quickly composed myself. I led her over to a table in the corner. A waitress came up to us and smiled at me, being way too friendly. I shot her a few winks and smiles, and ordered our drinks. Of course, they came in no time.

"Do you always to that?" Elle asked, turning towards me.

"Do what?" I asked innocently.

"Use your effect on women to your advantage." She feigned disgust, but I saw a smile playing on her lips.

"Do I affect you?" I smiled, leaning closer to her. She seemed to think for a while before answering.

"Yes." She said, blushing and looking away.

I placed one finger under her chin and lifted in until she met my eyes. I wanted to kiss her so badly, but I just couldn't take a chance with her, I had to make sure I played my cards right.

"You have quite an effect on the male population too." I said to her, and then dropped my hadn. She blushed again and muttered a tiny 'thank you.'

A few drinks later, she loosend up a bit, a side of her I hadn't seen yet.
