"GIRLS NIGHT!" Amy screamed into the phone. I pulled it away from my ear for a second so she could finish without making me go deaf.
"I'll be at your place at six," I confirmed.
"Deal. See you." She chirped and then hung up.
Girls night, like a high school sleep over except with legal alcohol. Something I dreaded and looked forward too. I should mention its also in-avoidable.
I trekked across the city( well, in a cab.) to Tribeca where Amy's apartment is. I got there at six fifteen, and I was scolded thoroughly for being late.
"Girl...what have you been up to? I haven't seen you in ages!" Amy exclaimed after we all had sat down and gotten comfortable.
"Well, I've been working a lot, and then basically just avoiding Jenna around the apartment." I giggled, but they didn't respond.
"And?" Holly prodded a knowing look on her face.
"And I've been spending a lot of time with Hollis." I blushed at his name, knowing I would be questioned thoroughly about my new beau.
"How are things going?" Amy asked, refilling her wine glass.
"Pretty great."
"That's all? Come on Elle you have got to be having more fun with that boy. He is smoking hot." Holly giggled.
"He totally is," Amy chimed in, I raised an eyebrow at her, how did she know what he looked like? "Facebook stalked him." She said matter-of-factly.
I don't even think I had taken the time be friends with Hollis on facebook, our time line had been so accelerated. We met, were friends for about three days, and started dating a week later. We were like a good healthy relationship, on speed.
"Okay, things are better than great. He's fun, and he's a total sweetheart to boot." I felt good to finally put my feelings for Hollis out there.
"Too cute, like puppy love." Holly admired. I winced at the word love, knowing it was just an expression, but the actual thought of being in love again. I hadn't even come close since Travis.
"Oh well, enough about me, how's Greg?" I winked at Amy, showing her I was okay with her seeing someone I had slept with.
"He is so spectacular. I've been spending a lot of time with him." She sighed, drifting into her private thoughts.
"Have you slept with him?" Holly asked. Amy just blushed, we knew the answer. Holly whistled, which I can't do, so I cheered. I was happy for Amy. It wasn't even two months ago when were talking about how lucky Holly was to be with Joe, and about our singleness. I expressed this to the girls.
"Yeah, a lot has happened so fast." Holly mused.
"It really has." I smiled.
"Ohmiogd." Holly squealed. "I forgot to tell you." She paused. "Will Ross is in town!"
Holly listened to my 16 year old self tell tales of despair, joy, and regret about Will. She was there through it all. The one thing I didn't tell her about was the time Will and I did cross that line, when I lost my virginity to him. I told her I lost it to a guy at a party in high school. Which was half of the truth.
I sighed. "I know. He stopped by my place two weeks ago."
"YOU DIDN'T TELL ME!"
"It wasn't worth telling." I snapped.
She gave me a look but brushed it off quickly.
"Who's Will Ross?" Amy asked, raising her eyebrows.
