"You can come in now, your Majesty." The doctor led a burly man into the bedroom, holding the door open for him. The room was huge. The floor had gray carpet, furniture sitting on top of it, covering the soft material. Beautiful paintings hung on the light yellow walls. Large windows were covered in flowing curtains, the pattern like the covers on the king-size bed. Laying in the bed, was a stunning woman holding a small bundle in her arms.
"Let me see him," the man said, moving closer to the bed.
"About that, Sire... It's a girl." As soon as the words left the doctor's mouth, the King turned onto him.
"What did you say?" He bellowed.
"I-it's a g-girl, your Highness." The doctor repeated. The King Reached for the man's throte, lifting him up.
"Odin! Stop!" The woman yelled at him. At his wife's cry, he dropped the man. Once again he moved to the bed.
"Let me see that child. It can't be a girl." He roughly grabbed the baby, looking at its face. He was met with swirling red eyes. As soon as the baby spotted the King, its eyes turned a black so dark that space looked like the sun on a warm summer day compared to them. This unsettled Odin, but he didn't let it show. He pulled down the child's diaper, and was met with smooth skin. Odin roared, carelessly tossing the baby to a nurse.
"Listen, Odin. I don't like this either, but she's our child. We shall keep her just long enough that she will survive on her own, then you can discard her." The woman said.
"Frigga, must I remind you about what happened with our last daughter? I will not have that again."
"It won't happen again, Odin." Frigga replied. "We will watch her very carefully." Odin simply nodded slowly, still unsure about his spouse's opinion. "What shall we name her?"
"Lilith."
