Person 1: Excuse me, who are you? What are you doing here? And why are you enquiring about our Virat.
Sai: I am his wife, Mrs Sai Virat Chavan.
The people out there were stunned when Sai stated she is Virat's wife.
Person 1: Wife? What do you mean you're his wife?
Person 2: Yes, do you even know what are you saying?
Sai: Excuse me, may I ask who are you? And how are you even questioning me?
Person 1: I am Bhavani Nagesh Chavan. Virat's Kaku.
"Chavan", "Kaku", does this mean they're Virat's family? Sai thought.
Sai: I am Sai, Virat's wife but he never told me about his family.
Bhavani: Wife! Huh! You can't be Virat's wife.
Sai was already very tensed about Virat and she was in no state to think and understand anything.
Sai: I am his wife and if I am not, then why would I pretend to be his wife?
Bhavani: Why would he get married, when he has already got a fiancé.
Shock was an understatement about what Sai felt. She was standing at a hospital where her husband was admitted and gets to know that her husband not only has a family but a fiancé too.
Sai: Fiancé??
Bhavani pulled a woman by her elbow from the side who was crying.
Bhavani: This is Patralekha, Virat's fiancé. For the past 6 years she has been waiting for Virat, loving him selflessly and unconditionally. She is the only one who had faith that Virat is alive when all of us had accepted that Virat is dead. And you claim to be his wife, that can't be true, just look at yourself, you must be at least 9-10 years younger to Virat. Virat could never do anything like this to Patralekha, she is his one true love and he loves her more than anything. And if Virat had actually gotten married, he would've definitely told his family about it.
Sai: What all are you even saying? Why would I lie about being wife to my own husband? And how am I supposed to know why didn't he tell his family about our marriage, he didn't even tell me about his family.
Just then a woman came forward as spoke:
Person 3: Vahini, I feel she is not lying. I mean why would she lie? Look, Virat has been away for the past 6 years, maybe he did get married.
Bhavani: Ashwini, just shut your mouth. Do you even know what are you even saying?
Person 2: Yes, Ashwini you don't speak.
Ashwini: Why? Why shouldn't I speak, my son has been away from me for the past 6 years and all of us thought he was dead. Now today when we get to know he's alive but is battling between life and death. And he even has a wife. Virat has been away for the past 6 years and we don't know what happened in these years so it's better that we don't say anything to Sai. Look at her, all tensed for her husband please spare her for now.
Bhavani: Ashwini you're siding this girl you just met?
Ashwini: Vahini, I am just accepting the truth.
Ashwini walked upto Sai and spoke:
Ashwini: Sai, look I don't know what happened over the past 6 years, but I trust you. I know my son would not do anything wrong.
Sai: Aa....
Ashwini: Call me Aai, I am your husband's Aai and from now onwards I am your Aai too. I can understand what you must be going through.
Bhavani: How do we believe this girl is Virat's wife and even if she is we don't accept this marriage.
Sai: Kaku, look I am in no state to process anything right now, my husband is battling between life and death right now and I can't think straight.
Saying this Sai just sat down on the hospital chair, praying to god for her husband.
Soon, as the operation was over, Sai immediately rushed to the doctor asking about Virat. The doctor informed that he had got a severe head injury, his operation was successful and he had been shifted to the ICU and was under observation for 48 hours until he gains consciousness as he had been given sedatives.
Sai: Can I meet him?
Doctor: Yes only one person.
The doctor asked the nurse to lead Sai to Virat, she was going along with him when Bhavani held her hand stopping her.
Bhavani: Where do you think you're going?
Sai: I am going to my husband.
Bhavani: You can't go, if only one person is allowed then it'll be Patralekha.
Sai was now loosing her patience.
Sai: I am his wife and I will go to him, you people are his family and I will not stop you from meeting him but if you want to meet him, then you can but only after he gains consciousness and more people are allowed to meet him, but right now only I'll go to him and I am a doctor too.
Saying this she removed Bhavani's hand and went ahead with the nurse.
Sai sat down on the stool beside, seeing him in this state she broke down.
It had now been a little more than 48 hours and Sai was getting more and more tensed by the minute. Sai had been by Virat's side without stirring.
Virat now started to gain consciousness, he slowly opened his eyes, he looked around his surroundings for a while. Sai sighed a sigh of relief thanking god. Virat after sometime spoke:
Virat: Doctor? What happened to me?
Sai was taken aback. But then was dumbstruck on what he spoke next.
Virat: Pakhi?
Sai turned to see Patralekha standing near the door then walking towards Virat. She came and stood next to Virat on the other side of the bed.
Sai: Virat, how are you feeling?
Virat: Not so good but okay, doctor.
Sai: Doctor?
Just then the whole Chavan family entered the room and started to talk to Virat and ask about how he'a feeling. After a few minutes the doctor walked and asked everyone to get out of the ward as these many people can't be in the room and he had to do some check ups.
The doctor came out and told everyone that Virat had suffered amnesia by the head injury. Sai did not know how to react.
Sai: What phase of his life has he forgotten doctor?
Doctor: I don't know, he told me the last thing he remembers is proposing Pakhi for marriage. When was that?
Bhavani: 6 years ago.
Sai was shattered while the Chavans smiled in victory.
