The diary fell from her hand.
Her whole life was a lie? Her marriage was a lie? Their love was a lie? And before she could even process the bell rang. As she heard the bell she wondered who could it be? Lifeless-y she walked towards the door and opened it. She was shocked at seeing who stood there.
There stood Ashwini, Sai wondered why was she here??
Ashwini - May I come in??
Sai - Y..Y..Yes please do
Ashwini came inside. Seeing that broken child Ashwini's heart pained.
Ashwini - Sai...
Sai - Why've you come here Aai?
Ashwini - To take you
Sai - Take me where?
Ashwini - To our house...to your house.
Sai - But how...how can I go there? I can't go there.
Ashwini - Why can't you? It's your husband's house hence your house too. You have all the rights.
Sai - Rights? *chukles* What rights Aai? I just got to know my husband has a family when he was in the hospital and apparently a fiancé too. And now he doesn't even remember me. Plus I got to know he probably never loved me, our life was a lie, I was living a lie for the past so many years. *crying* It was all a lie...it was all a lie.
Crying she fell down on the floor. Ashwini felt really bad seeing her she bent down too and spoke.
Ashwini - And what about the life you're carrying? Is that a lie too?
Sai - H...how do you know that I'm...
Ashwini - I'm a mother Sai, I know. The way you were being all cautious and protective of yourself, caressing your stomach. I just got to know. That only happens when a woman is pregnant. You take care of yourself but you're not taking care of yourself but your child. Your husband was in the hospital, being the most stressed person yet you had to take care of yourself too and it's only possible if this is the case. I know you're pregnant with Virat's child.
Sai - But what's the use? It's just my child. Because it doesn't matter to him, neither the baby or I matter to him. And he doesn't even remember me now. He's back to his old life with his old mind. Where there was no me. As is it being with me was forced on him so it's better this way now.
Ashwini - What are you saying Sai? Just because he has lost his memory doesn't change the fact that you are his wife and he's your husband, you both are married. We will have to figure something.
Sai - But there is no use Aai, no use. How can I go there after what I read in his diary. I can't. He's back to his family, his love and doesn't even remember me so there is nothing to guilt him or hold him back from living his life happily.
Ashwini - Diary? What about the diary? Tell me.
Sai told her everything, how how they met, how Virat got into the accident and everyone thought him dead but he slipped into coma then how her father died, how they got married till about what she read in the diary. Then burst into tears.
Sai - I was just a forced phase of his life which is now over.
Ashwini - You were not some temporary fling of his life that it's over. You are his wife whether he remembers or not. Marriage is the most sacred relation. Come on you're coming to Chavan Niwas with me.
Sai - I can't Aai, I can't.
Ashwini - That's not just your child Sai it's Chavan family's heir and my grandchild too, I do have rights on it too. Sai...I accepted you as my daughter in the first look itself please you have to come with me if not for Virat then for me. Did you not accept me as your Aai?
Sai - Why're you saying that Aai? You are the only one who's been so kind to me. You're the only one I felt the love and warmth of a mother with.
Ashwini - Okay then you're coming with me to Chavan Niwas and that's final.
