PART 7
It had been a month that Virat had been discharged. He was recovering well and was almost fit now.
Since the past one month the whole Chavan family had been living happily after 6 years. The elders were happy to have their son back. The youngsters were happy to have their brother back. Patralekha was happy to have Virat back. But the only ones at loss were Virat and Sai. Sai in order to protect her heart tried to find an escape in taking care of herself and her baby as if that's her sole purpose to live. But that sense of loss didn't leave Virat. He was back with his family and had and Pakhi and he was happy but he still felt as if a part of him was missing. He tried to put it as okay it's because I don't remember the last six years. Though the family had told him that the last six years were just normal. But what was that he was feeling? Even he couldn't decipher that himself. There was an unknown tussle of emotions.
Sai was around 4 months pregnant now. Standing in front of the mirror she was looking at her tummy. It had started showing. Though just slightly but she was showing now. She couldn't express her feelings in words. But then her heart ached too. Just when she heard a voice startling her. It was Virat standing at the door of her room.
Virat - What are you doing Sai?
Sai - (startled) Oh my god! What are you doing here?
Virat - I was just...
Before he could speak she spoke further.
Sai - What is it with you? I mean why do you come after me or try to talk to me? Why can't you just leave me alone.
Virat - Calm down Sai. I was just passing by.
Sai - So?
Virat - So...I thought why not check up on you?
Sai - Why did you want to check up on me?
Even Virat didn't know the answer to that question. Why did he want to check up on her?
Virat - Umm...Sai look you're here living with us, we can be friends right.
Sai - (chuckles) Friends? I've already got plenty of friends Virat sir I don't need another friend.
"Virat sir" that's the first time Virat heard Sai call him using his name and her "Virat sir" literally made his heart stop for a moment. He had no idea what was he feeling on hearing that "Virat sir" from her. And why was he feeling what he was feeling.
Virat - What did you call me?
Sai - What?
Virat - You called me Virat sir.
Sai - Yeah that's what I call you.
Virat - What do you mean that's what you call me? Do you know me from before?
Sai - I...uhh...I...I mean what else am I supposed to call you?
Virat - I don't know...just that in the past one month we've known each other I've never seen you address me in any way.
Sai - Why should I ever address you?
And then there was silence for a few moments before Sai spoke further.
Sai - Are you done? I think you should leave now.
Giving her a faint smile Virat walked out. He was lost as some unknown feeling had totally captured him.
It was now dinner time. The whole family was at the table having dinner as usual and enjoying.
Ashwini - Godu!!! Look what I have got here.
Virat - What is it Aai?
Ashwini - Since you're finally allowed to have all kinds of food now I made you pineapple sheera.
Virat - Really Aai! Oh I love pineapple sheera. Give it to me.
Virat took the bowl and served himself sheera and started having. While having the sheera he looked at Sai.
Virat - Sai you should try the sheera Aai makes the best pineapple sheera.
Sai - No it's okay I'm fine.
Virat - How are you fine...you have to try Aai's sheera I can gurantee that this would probably be the best sheera you've ever had.
He got up and started serving Sai the sheera.
Sai - Virat sir please I don't want to have it.
Ashwini - Godu...let it be. If she doesn't want to have don't force her.
Virat - No Aai she should have it, you make the best sheera. Sai at least try it...don't have much but have some at least.
Sai - No Virat sir I can't
But Virat didn't budge and his constant persistence didn't help. It only irritated Sai further out of which she spoke.
Sai - I can't have pineapple sheera Virat Sir I'm pregnant!
Virat - You're pregnant!?
