As Shane and Lyla were getting to know each other, they learned a lot of things about each other. He learned how Lyla's father had sadly passed away when she was 15 years old. He was heartbroken for her when she told him.
They told each other stories about when they were younger, some sad, some funny, some straight up weird. They enjoyed each other's company. When they couldn't see each other, they would stay up late texting back and forth, and FaceTime as long as they could.
They started to fall in love with each other, the more they'd spend time together, the more in love they both became. And six months into their relationship, they told each other that they love each other. They have never been happier after that, it was all bliss.

When their two year anniversary was coming up, Shane decided he wanted to propose to Lyla. So he bought a ring, and planned everything out. He was excited, and nervous, but he knew she was the one for him, he knew he had to do this.
So a week before their anniversary he told her that he planned a trip for the two of them. He had plane tickets, and told her to start getting ready.
They left the day before their anniversary.
"Are you going to tell me where we are going now?" Lyla asked when they had boarded the plane.
"Not yet, you'll find out when we get there." He smiled at her.
"You won't give me just a little hint?"
"Nope."
"Fine" Lyla pouted playfully.

A long nine hours later they finally had landed.
As they were getting off the plane, Shane had his hands over Lyla's eyes. When they made it off he uncovered her eyes so she could see where they were.
"Ireland!?" She practically screamed.
"That's right Lyla, Dublin Ireland!"
"This can't be happening! I don't know what to say!!" Lyla jumped into his arms and he spun her around, both of them with smiles a mile wide. Lyla had tears in her eyes.
"I've always wanted to come here, this has been a lifelong dream! You are amazing Shane, I'm so lucky to have you!" She kissed him. "I love you Shane!" She said softly.
"And I love you too, Lyla." They smiled at each other with their arms around each other.

The Next Day

It was now their anniversary. They had gotten a room a hotel the night before. It was the morning, and they had just gotten ready for the day.

"Alright darling, would you like your gift now or later?" Shane asked.
"Hmm, now?"
"Alright." Shane went over to his luggage and pulled something out, and hid it behind his back. "Close your eyes."
"Okay." She smiled and closed her eyes.
"And hold out your hands." She held out her hands and he placed an envelope in her hands.
"Alright, you can open them now." Shane spoke up. She opened her eyes and looked down at the envelope in her hands, she looked back up at Shane, a confused look on her face.
"Open it." He smiled excitedly. She opened it up and pulled out two pieces of paper, she looked at them, and she quickly looked back at Shane, tears forming in her eyes.
"Oh Shane, you didn't!"
"I did!" He smiled.
"This has to be a dream!" She said her hand over her mouth.
"We're going to the Westlife concert!"
Tears were now flowing freely down her cheeks. She got up and pulled Shane into a tight hug.
"I can't believe you did this for me!" She cried.
"I love you Lyla." He said, his hands on her cheeks.
"I love you too!" She said. Then put their foreheads together and smiled at each other lovingly.
"I got to get ready!" She suddenly said frantically.
"Hey, hey, hey, it's okay, the concert is in a few days, you don't need to rush."

That evening, the had just finished their dinner, and now, they were outside on a bench swing watching the sunset together.
"This day has been one of the best days of my life." Lyla said softly.
"The day's not over yet." Shane replied.
"What do you mean?" Lyla asked.   Shane stood up and offered his hand to her.
"May I have this dance?"  Lyla giggled and replied,
"Yes you may kind sir." Then they danced together, looking lovingly into each other's eyes. They finished their dance. And then Shane said.
"Lyla, I love you."
"I love you too" Lyla replied. Then Shane got down on one knee in the moonlight, and pulled a small box out from his pocket. Lyla softly gasped and put her hands over her mouth.

"Lyla Elizabeth Manner, my life has changed in the best way since I met you. You light up my life. You are my starlight, my life, my hero, my love, and I could go on, but then we would be here all night." They both let out a little chuckle. "You are my sunshine, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you by my side. Lyla Elizabeth, will you marry me?" He said as he opened the box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.
Lyla's eyes were full of tears.

"Oh Shane.." She said softly, tears flowing from her eyes. "Yes! I will!" Shane stood up and they embraced each other and Shane spun her around, a wide smile on his face. They both had tears in their eyes as Shane set her down gently, and placed the ring on her finger.

"Oh Shane, I love you so much!" She said embracing him again. They looked at each other smiling.
"I love you to my love." Shane whispered.
Then they kissed each other passionately.
