Today was officially Bethany's first day in her new school. She was stressed, so she woke up super early, and just lays in her bed, thinking about how she could end up with no friends, and getting bullied by some random group of girls that hated her for no apparent reasons. She kept overthinking to herself, until it was actually time to wake up. She stood up to wake up her twin sister, Cassidy. Bethany just moved in with her father, since her parents are divorced, and her mother neglected her. She walked to Cassidy's room and knock on the door. No response. She knocked again, but still no response. She then opens the door to see Cassidy sleeping deeply, while her alarm was ringing next to her. She chuckles a bit and walks to Cassidy.
"Cassy, whispered Beth, wake up, we're going to be late."
Cassidy opened her eyes slowly, stretched, then looked at Beth.
"Good morning to you too Any." she yawns, and rub her eyes
"I'm going to get ready I guess. You should get ready too. So, shoo."
Cassidy stood up and walks to the bathroom nonchalantly before getting in and closing the door.
Bethany walked out of Cassidy's room and goes to hers. She quickly got ready, since she already had showered a while ago. As she ran downstairs, the comforting sight of her step-mother Emilie cooking breakfast welcomed her. Bethany smiled as she goes and kiss her on the cheeks.
"Hi Emilie !!" Bethany said as she sat at the dining table. "Is dad already gone for work?" Questioned Beth while taking a fruit from the fridge.
"He's the one dropping you guys. So, how are you feeling? Ready for a new beginning?" Asked Emilie while dropping a plate full of bacon and eggs in front of Bethany. Bethany smiled and starts eating.
"Stressed", admitted Bethany, "But I hope everything will be okay!" Concluded Bethany with an excited voice. Nothing could go wrong with that school, right? Everything will okay, she'll get good grades, and she'll have a lot of new friends. She was confident about it, and that made her feel better. Cassidy then walked downstairs with a tired look on her face. She walked tiredly to Emilie and kissed her on the cheeks too.
"Hi dear, how was your sleep today?" Asked Emilie while giving her a plate of bacon and eggs.
"The same as yesterday, tiring." She answered as she sat down on the dining table, just in front of Bethany. She looked exhausted, and barely had her eyes opened. Bethany chuckled a bit before feeling someone touching her head. She quickly turned around, and saw her dad looking at her.
"Good morning girls! How are you guys feeling?" Asked her father, while kissing Bethany's cheeks.
"I'm stressed, but apart from that, I'm fine." She replied.
"Great. Don't be stressed, it's going to be alright." He reassured her before turning his head to Cassidy.
"How about you Cassidy?" He asked curiously while walking to Emilie to kiss her.
"Could be better. What about you? Are you okay?" She asked with a curious tone, but with an indifferent look on her face.
Her father ignored the question and looked at Bethany.
"Let's get going now, you girls bags ready ?"
They Bethany nodded and Cassidy sighed.
"No, not yet. Just a few more things and it's done." mumbled Cassidy while standing up.
"This was suppose to be done two weeks ago, what were you doing all this time ?" Demanded Emilie as she finishes cleaning the dishes.
"Nothing that important." sighed Cassidy once again.
She starts walking upstairs and came back 5 minutes later with both hers and Bethany's bag. She gave it to her father who immediately took them to the car.
Hours later the girls arrive at school, Cassidy rushed out of the car without waiting Bethany. Cassidy has been in this school for years now, so she knew her way around perfectly. Bethany got out of the car and looked around awkwardly. Her father was taking their stuff out of the car while Cassidy was talking to some group of girls. She then waved them goodbye before walking toward Beth.
"Don't worry, the cannibals are in the other campus." She joked as she was helping her father to takes their stuffs.
"The WHAT ??" Asked Bethany horrified.
"Don't listen to your sister, she's just joking." His father reassures him as he glares at his sister.
"I'm not tho."
"You are." Insisted her father.
"Mkay." She shrugged it off as she takes out the final things out the car.
"Okay, now, let's go !!" Said Cassidy with a lot of excitement. It seemed like all the fatigue she had earlier was gone, she seemed full with energy now.
"Wait. Cassidy you should go to class, I need to bring Bethany to the director." Her father said, but Bethany noticed that his voice lacked enthusiasm.
"I can go with you, the teacher won't mind." Replicated Cassidy, who didn't want to leave her sister alone, for no apparent reason.
"No, go to class." Commanded her father, looking at her sternly.
"Why? She'll need me to get to class anyway." Retorqued Cassidy with an annoyed.
"You don't even know if you are in the same class." her father replied, exasperated.
"Well, if we're not, you might want to ask mom if she cheated on you !!" Argued Cassidy.
"But..since we're the same age..we should be in the same class..right ?" Asked Bethany, who was confused.
She didn't know why her father didn't want Cassidy to go, and she didn't understand why Cassidy was insisting. Also, something felt weird about this place and its people. Even her sister looked weird. It was as if her aura was surronded by some dark energy, but she couldn't really see it. But something was wrong.
Cassidy and her father didn't say anything for a while, until her father sighed.
"I guess you can come Cassidy."
"Heh, I knew it." She smirked sneakily.
"It's just a proposition, but if we want to be there BEFORE class starts, we should probably get going." Said Cassidy.
"Let's get going then !!" Replied Bethany with a smile.
She smiled, but her smile wasn't completely honest. Of course, she was kind of excited, but she was also scared. But she shooed that fear away and followed her dad and her sister in the school's hall. She saw all the other student staring at her, as if she some kind of snack, but Cassidy gave them a quick look and they all looked away.
"Don't worry about them, they aren't a threat," She said casually, "Atleast not to you." She added with a smile.
Bethany smiled back, feeling a little nervous. What did Cass meant by 'Atleast not to you' ? Were they threat to other student ? Were they dangerous ? But she quickly calmed down. Cassidy said they were no threat, so she must be right, and they aren't dangerous. Nothing bad will happen, they won't hurt her. Beside, she had Cassidy to protect her, it looked like she was feared here.
So it should be fine, right ?
