Last night, Jane's assignment kept us up till 3 in the morning causing me to crash at her place. The 7 a.m. wake-up call coupled with the unwelcome company of my period was making my day worse than it could be.

A jolt from reality came in the form of a buzzing phone in my pocket. Jane's name gleamed on the screen as I pressed it against my ear, greeted by her resonant voice.

"I was looking for you everywhere, where are you?" She chimed.

"Library."

"I have something important to discuss. Can you be here right now?" She asked.

"Yeah, sure. Where exactly?"

"Courtyard."

"Alright, give me a minute."

The call concluded, and I reluctantly closed the book, returning it to its rightful place on the shelves. Normally a haven of solitude, today it was a battleground for stressed-out students cramming for exams.

As I navigated the sea of study fervor, I clenched my thighs together, desperately trying to prevent the pad from betraying its position. Periods, deemed a "gift" by some, manifested as cramps and mood swings.

Amid my internal protest against nature's gift, an unforeseen blow to my leg disrupted my thoughts, causing me to stumble and meet the ground. Horror dawned as I realized my pad had succumbed to the chaos.

The basketball court, with its assembly of guys in pristine white tank tops, towered nearby. Lost in my thoughts, I didn't even realize I was in their domain. The guys approached, concern etched on their faces, and Taehyung extended a helping hand.

"Are you okay? Need to see the nurse?" he asked, genuine concern visible in his eyes.

"No, I'm fine. Thanks for your concern," I replied, attempting to mask the discomfort with a smile. Amidst the embarrassment, warmth tinged my cheeks.

As the guys returned to their court, Jungkook lingered, his face twisted in disgust. "Blushing, really? Gross," His comment hung in the air as he sauntered away, leaving me to ponder the unexpected encounter.

Is he mad about yesterday?

As I rushed to the restrooms, a change of pads became an urgent mission. Then, off to the courtyard, where Jane was ready to introduce me to a mysterious newcomer.

As I glimpsed the silhouette of Jane and the other girl, their backs were turned, preventing me from discerning their features. Planning to surprise Jane with a sudden pat, I approached, but they turned around unexpectedly. That's when I noticed the other girl, her raven hair falling down her forehead and shoulders.

"Hey, what took you so long?" Jane exclaimed, her eyes lighting up. It wasn't a question but an excited statement, so there was no need for an explanation.

As I observed the other girl, she exuded a wholesome aura. A smile that rivaled the warmth of the sun adorned her face, with her eyes wrinkling in delight. I couldn't help but wonder if she could see anything through those crinkling eyes.

Ok, but why is she here?

Scrunching my face in confusion, I shot Jane a look, silently asking for the lowdown. But before she could spill, the girl next to her stepped in."I'm Ivy Clark. A freshman here and Jane will tell the rest herself."

Jane cleared her throat, "I've recruited her to join our 'Crack the Code Behind Yena's Dream' team - where we're basically dream detectives."

And this left me in disbelief.

"I wasn't even serious that day," I groaned, palm meeting face.

"But I was dead serious about that 'Crack the Code Behind Yena's Dream'," Jane insisted.

Sighing, I cast a glance at Ivy, who likely felt like a third wheel. "Fine, but what are we supposed to do now?"

"First off, let's find a place to sit, somewhere." Jane declared.

Spotting a bench in the distance, we proceeded towards it, with Ivy leading the way. Drawing closer to Jane, I whispered, "How will she help us?"

"No specific help. Saw her sitting at a bench alone, Thought she must be up for something interesting, and recruited her."

"You are unbelievable Jane. We don't even know her."

She ignored my statement and made herself sit on the bench. I was sitting between them. Turning towards Ivy I asked," Tell me something about yourself."

As we found a bench, Ivy shared a bit about herself. "I'm half Aussie, a food enthusiast, and I love... Netflix?"

"Aussie?" Both Jane and I said in unison.

"Could you say 'no' like 'naur'?" I insisted.

"I should've kept the Aussie card hidden," Ivy whined.

"Pleeease," Jane drawled, extending the word.

"Fine," Ivy said, attempting to control our malfunctioned system. "I am saying it in," she took a deep breath, "Naur."

Her voice, more of a murmur, managed to reach our ears, inducing both laughter and exclamation. Ivy blushed, likely due to embarrassment.

"Lol, I enjoy watching you Aussies squirm," Jane laughed.

"Did 'lol' just sneak back into your vocab? Thought we ditched that habit of verbalizing text abbreviations," I teased, receiving a tongue-out response from Jane.

"Fine, now let's start our first investigation." I declared." I don't have any notebook or something though."

Ivy tore a page out from her notebook and handed me. Grabbing a pen from Jane, I prepared myself to take notes however they suggested.

"I think we should write the details about your dream, first of all," Ivy suggested.

"Right."

I inscribed 'Investigation-1' in capital letters at the top and recorded the initial point.

1. I'm at the river, hear a tune, and follow it. There's a couple; can't see the guy's face, but the girl looks like me, just dresses differently.

I glanced at Jane to see her reaction and she responded with a thumbs up. "What else?" I asked.

"You know more about your dreams than us," Jane remarked.

I proceeded to write again.

2. I hear that same melody in the library, so I head there. It's just me and that annoying Jungkook. After that, I head home.

"I think you should revisit that library." Ivy pointed out.

"Hmm," Jane mumbled.

"All right, so catch you tomorrow at the library. Cause' I wanna go home and crash on my bed today, and it's all thanks to you, Jane."
