Part 6- Aftermath

it's been a few days since me and sasuke have spoken. I've been avoiding both uchiha boys at all costs. But I've heard from other students that sasuke is now dating the boy we ran into the other day.  But that information only made me feel worse..But I have no idea why.
"Naruto!" sakura screams in my ear.
"Huh?" I replied confused with little energy.
"I've been calling your name for like 5 minutes!" She yelps annoyed.
"Sorry." I replied to her remark
"What's wrong with you lately?!" She asks concerned for her blond friend.
"I don't know. Just the whole sasuke situation is getting to my head. He said I was nobody important.. but I was stupid and thought we were becoming friends.." i replied with a sad expression.
"It will all work out at some point naruto." She states confidently.

After school I go to sakuras house with all of our friends, as they all get ready for the ball i look over my shoulder to see itachi standing behind me.
"Hey.." I had said nervously.
"Been awhile. What's up with you?" Itachi asked bluntly.
"The other day when me and sasuke where walking out of school some guy came up to sasuke and it's like his whole personality changed. The strange dude asked who I was and sasuke said I was nobody important. Like I didn't matter at all..." I replied to the uchiha's question.
"Oh." Itachi said with a hint of emotion. That made me realize itachi definitely knew who i was talking about.
"Who is that guy?" I asked.
"He's the reason sasuke left in the first place. He is sasukes ex. But now they are back together and it's not good. He's mentally and physically abusing sasuke. But for some reason sasuke keeps going back to him. And I'm worried." Itachi replied with a scared expression.
"Oh.."
"Naruto.. I'm afraid you are the only person who can help him. It's up to you to get him back. I've tried, and I can't. So I'm leaving it to you." Itachi said sadly.
"Why me? What can I do??" I asked.
"He has a soft spot for you. He doesn't even treat me the way he treats you. For some reason he's attached to you." Itachi stated confidently.
"What could I even do for him? I don't have much left to give. And don't get me wrong.. if I had to give my everything to someone..it would be him." I stated with a sad expression.
"That's all you need. You need to tell him that. Tell him that you would give him all of you. If he knew you felt that way he would try to do better. For you." Itachi stated as he walked away.

All I could think about for the rest of the hour was what itachi said to me. But i was reluctant to try..

Me and the group all walk into the school gym where the ball is being held.
There's some music playing in the speakers as everyone is mingling.
I find myself looking everywhere for sasuke. And then I finally spotted him.
Sasuke was alone. His so called boyfriend nowhere to be seen. I then felt a weight lift off my chest.
