"Nyra; Rhaenyra?"NYRA RUSHED TO catch up with her sister, who strutted into Mystic Falls High as soon as she got out of her car. Caroline knew that her little sister would be able to catch up eventually, but the blonde didn't want to wait any longer before starting her, "popular girl facade".
"Caroline!" Nyra exclaimed, brushing past many of her fellow students to catch up to her sister.
Caroline ignored Nyra's calls and immediately made a beeline towards their two friends, Elena and Bonnie. Last year, Elena's parents sadly passed away after their car swerved off of Wickery Bridge with her sitting in the backseat. It was a miracle that Elena survived and it became quick spread gossip in the small town of Mystic Falls. Although, instead of treating her friend any differently, like everyone else had, Nyra gave Elena her sympathies and went back to normal— Elena appreciated that about her friend.
"Elena!" Caroline gasped once she saw her brunette friend. "Oh, my god."
The blonde pulled Elena into a tight hug, just as Nyra was able to catch up. She watched from beside Bonnie as Elena awkwardly returned the hug, which did make Nyra's lips twitch upwards in amusement.
Caroline pulled away and gave Elena a once over. "How are you? Oh, it's so good to see you. Nyra and I have been worried sick," Caroline turned to Bonnie. "How is she? Is she good? She'd never admit if she wasn't."
"Caroline, I'm right here," Elena cut in. "And I am just fine. Thank you."
Nyra smiled. "Like I have told you many times, Care."
However, Caroline still remained sceptical of her friend. She didn't understand how she could be just fine after what had happened. If she lost her mother, father, god-for-bid Nyra, Caroline would lose her mind.
"Are you sure?"
Elena nodded. "Yes. I'm feeling much better. Thank you for your concern."
"Oh, you poor thing."
Caroline couldn't resist and pulled Elena into another hug. Bonnie and Nyra shared a look of amusement as Elena gave them a pleading look to help her from over Caroline's shoulder. And yet, the two girls remained in their same spot as Caroline hugged her tightly.
Elena gently pushed Caroline away. "Ok, Caroline. Thank you for the hugs."
"Oh!" Caroline smiled widely. "Ok, see you guys later?" She looked to Nyra. "See you in biology?"
Nyra nodded. "Save me a seat?"
"Well, duh. Who else would I sit beside?"
Caroline then turned around, her blonde hair swishing to the side as she strutted down the hallway. Bonnie and Nyra turned to their right and gave Elena a look, both of them stifling their laughter at her overwhelmed look.
