Blake Harper doesn't do love. He's rude, quiet, brooding, and prefers to be alone. Like all bad boys, he's untamable and unclaimed, but he isn't sure what to do when the girl he sets his eyes on...

Meeting your online bestie is such an anxious feeling and stressful. Especially, if there is an airport packed with people of all kinds. I know what Avalon looks like but pictures and real life is a whole different thing.
Swallowing my spit, I glance around for a crazy brunette and her boyfriend. She told me he'd be with her today as my arrival was in between their sleepover. I take in a deep breath to steady my throbbing heartbeat and just as I'm about to panic, my eyes catch a woman waving around a large poster. My eyes land on the big, fat letters 'Catalina Diaz' and cringe in embarrassment.
Well, at least I found her.
I grin as my excitement grows the nearer I get, baffled at how the pictures lied about how gorgeous she truly is. She notices me and squints, possibly torn at believing this is me in real life in a good or bad way. I pray that it is positive because my self-esteem is not the greatest.
She gaped, tossed the sign aside, and started to run toward me, squealing. Her excitement sparked mine alive tenfold and I started sprinting toward her. We engross ourselves with one another: hugging, cupping cheeks, poking, and touching. I giggle and take her hands, my smile hurting my face.
" My god, you're so much prettier, " I compliment.
She rolls her eyes in flattery and squeals yet again, wiggling my hands.
" Girl, pictures didn't justify your glorious self, " she exaggerates.
I brush it off and pull her into another hug, inhaling her perfume. Goddamn, she smells so nice.
" You smell so nice, " she spills and pulls away, smiling even bigger now.
She has no filter. Noted.
" Thank you. I was thinking it, " I state.
She bites her lip and nods.
" Well, I'm so happy you've finally arrived. But now, I need you to meet someone very dear to me. I need my two favorite people to know each other or I might die in guilt. "
I raise a brow and take her hand when she offers, following the lovely Avalon.
To think we made plans to meet years ago and could never follow through, but meeting like this is so much better. We both had obvious glow-ups from high school and matured to the face, so this is perfect. If we had met in high school then we'd be stuck with one another's ugly faces in remembrance. I stifle a laugh and allow myself to drown in my happiness.
" I'll show you around campus right away, or do you want to settle in first? "
She glances at me over her shoulder.
" Um, I think it would be best if you showed me tomorrow. I am tired from that long flight. "
