In the year 2145, individuals everywhere had extraordinary abilities. To preserve the lineage of pure supernatural talents, everyone beyond the age of fifteen who lacked any supernatural ability, as well as the ones who lost control of their powers and turned into monsters were deemed subhuman and disposed of with care. That was the Internationa Lab's decision - the organization that had the final say in every problem related to preserving humankind.
However, no matter what this Lab was trying to save humankind, more and more people turned into destructive monsters and started to bring the Earth down with them.
The International Lab, Basement 102, Extremely Dangerous Case
_ Last night, I witnessed them carrying a corpse shrouded with a blanket to the crematory. That was a fuzzy beast with sharp teeth. A shredded protection suit identical to ours was next to its corpse. Do you understand what I mean? It indicates that the monster used to be one of us. I suppose the report is true; the lunacy has now reached the lab. We are not safe anymore.
In the corridor, two guys clad in safety gear pushed a big cart draped in a towel. While scanning the area for potential listeners, one man whispered into the other's ear. It seemed like that guy's worry had persuaded the other man, but he was trying to persuade himself not to believe all he had heard.
_ Don't speak rubbish! You know how tough this lab is. We have guardians with the most powerful skills.
He said.
_ Just wait till they transform into monsters and come after us.
_ Remember that girl, Edana, the hidden weapon? She possesses the capacity to return any monster to human form. - The man lowered his voice and spoke solemnly. - If the scientist could do a better job of spreading her power to the community, we might all be secure here, and maybe the planet could be rescued as well.
By the time they reach a dark cage at the end of the corridor, heavily secured with several special locks and chains, the two men cease speaking. Transferring the food from the cart into the cage, they pried open the tiny opening of the enclosure. In the confines of the cage sat a towering young guy, bound and gagged, clad in pyjamas. Using specific steels that prevent the use of supernatural abilities, the prison, handcuffs, and fetters were all constructed.
_ Eat this like it's your last meal, weirdo. There will soon be no food left for you.
Remarked one of the men. He then knelt to examine the spectacles worn by the guy in the cage.
_ Hey, what is it? Why did you get new glasses?
_ It seems to be pricey. - The second person stretched out his hand to take the spectacles. - Let's simply consider it a charge for taking care of a weirdo like you!
Although the young man in the cage seemed to have gone blank moments before, he responded instantly to that man's move. With his hands firmly gripping the spectacles, stepped back not to let the glasses be taken away.
Since starting work here, this man had never once refused, so the guy was taken aback. Finally, however, he was. The man reasoned that the man had lost his fear of the monster because the monster had threatened the lab's security. His anger stemmed from the fact that it stoked his insecurities.
_ Give it to me! Dammit!
As he gazed into the man within the cage's sparkling eyes, the guy demanded.
_ Jonathan, stop!
By patting his shoulder, the other person attempted to calm him down.
_ So you want to do it the hard way.
