Drue's POV

"Yuh feel nervous?"

A little but I had to get over it.

"Me good man, just one dem little stomach feeling deh enuh."

"Yuh have this me bredda," Keefer said.

"Appreciate you taking time off from work to come with me."

"Weh yah talk 'bout? Apart from Miss Anna, me a one of your biggest fans, aye 'member say a me make you know seh you can sing enuh," he said, making me laugh.

"Anything yuh seh me boss. Anyways a nuff man out yah looking like them just as hungry fi this."

I was surprised that so many people would show up. For some reason I felt like I was auditioning for rising stars instead of pitching myself to a label.

"Nuh worry 'bout nobody. Just go in there and show these people that you deserve to be signed to them.

Same thing my mother said.

"Me ready fi this," I said and we dap fist.

"Well we just have to wait until the A&R call your name and yuh just guh in there and show them seh you name Singer Drue."

"Yeah, ready." I said.

Prissy's POV

I could not understand why some of these people knew they couldn't sing but still decided to show up to get signed.

Within the last hour I heard about twenty people and only two made any impact on me. I was starting to believe that maybe this was a bad idea and I wasn't going to get any real talent today.

"I don't plan on doing this another day enuh," I said to Mikey, the A&R and a couple of my executives.

"We have some more people outside, we don't have to go over into another day."

I got up from the table and stretched my feet a little.

"Miss King, we should take a little break," Mikey said and I agreed.

They left the stage area and made my way to my office with Sanya. As I sat down I started going through the files on my desk to see if anyone stood out so I could pick a few more people and call it a day.

"Not one of these people makes any sense," I said to Sanya.

"Are you sure? A few could really sing."

"Yeah but they don't have the look, they don't have that star quality I am looking for."

I pushed the files one side then went to stand beside the water cooler. I rested my head on it to cool it a little.

"Drink some water and relax."

"I am relaxed."

Maybe I wasn't and that's why I wasn't seeing what I wanted. However I had to shake out of this because I had a lot to prove to everyone.

I got some water from the cooler and took another deep breath. Someone knocked on the door and I told them to come in. It was Jamie, my assistant.

"Miss King, there is a delivery for you."

"From who Jamie?"

She stepped to the side and I watched in astonishment as two delivery men walked into the room with two different floral arrangements and three big black boxes. One of the men approached me and gave me a flat box and an envelope.

"Miss King, I was told to place these in your hands," he said.

"Thank you," I said faintly as I gingerly took them from his hands.
