It was a summer's afternoon and all of the young justice team were all laying around the mountain and doing their own thing. They had just gotten back from a small mission and they were all tired, not really wanting to do much.
Robin and Wally were laying around in Robin's room, playing a bored game on the floor. They began to get bored of it when they then heard wind blowing and trees scratching up against the window.
They both looked towards it, neither of them remembering it ever being windy earlier. "Maybe it's just now picking up?" Robin guessed, shrugging. Wally shrugged as well and turned his attention back to the game. "It's supposed to be hot and nice weather all week, I don't know" he said.
"Hey, Wally, do you remember when we first met?" Robin wondered, changing the subject.
Wally smiled, nodding as he began to clean up the board game pieces, Robin helping. "Of course I remember! It was one of many of my favorite days of my life! Why?"
Dick shrugged, smiling now as well. He and Wally then put their game away and both sat down in the bed. "Just curious if you remembered. Even when we don't get along on some days, you still stay by my side, my best friend. You know everything about me, and I remember specifically that when we met we promised each other no matter what comes our way we'll still stay here together, because we can get through it." He explained.
"Oh, yeah, I remember that too! And so far nothing has ever separated us! I mean, just look at us now." Wally giggled.
Dick was about to say something more when suddenly a huge sound of thunder rumbled outside, the lights and all power now shutting down.
"Hot and nice weather all week, you said?" Dick sighed, as rain was then heard, more thunder following.
"All week as in during the day!" Wally sheepishly smiled.
Dick sighed again and quickly made his way towards the door. "Stay here, I'll go find us a flashlight, we may need to move our hangout time to my house." He said, now leaving.
Wally sighed, looking around in the dark once he was left alone. Suddenly, a thumping was then heard from the window, followed by shaking, as if something or someone was trying to open it.
Curious, Wally began to make his way over, as it continued on. He took a look outside, seeing nothing but rain and trees. He lifted up the window, opening it, and took a more look outside, letting rain blow inside as he did.
Could it have just been the wind?
But before Wally could even shut it again, a hand swung up and grasped a tight hold over Wally's, causing him to yelped out and fight against it. The figure holding on to him then swung himself up and over the window and into the room, letting go of Wally, who fell backwards in the room.
He looked up to see a tall figure smiling down at him, laughing and giggling. Recognizing who it was, Wally quickly got up and put up a fighting stance, growling.
"How did you find this place, Joker? And what do you want?!"
"Oh, no need for that! You can forget about fighting me too, Kid Flash! I'm not here to put up with your worthless fighting, I'm here for....you." Joker then said, laughing.
Wally paused and widened his eyes. "What...wh-what do you want with me?" He hesitantly questioned as he gritted his teeth.
Joker laughed more, tossed a small round object towards Wally and leaped back outside, shutting the window back again. Wally tried dodging, only to find that the small object was not an attack or bomb at all. He narrowed his eyes at it as it laid on the floor.
Wally hesitated before deciding to reach down and pick up the small object. It was round, gold, and fit perfectly in his hand. It had a lid, like a small handheld mirror. He opened it up, seeing as it was a handheld mirror. Only it began to glow, causing Wally to squint his eyes.
The mirror then showed a vision in the middle, the top mirror reflecting himself, the bottom reflecting himself with bright red glowing eyes and a devil smile. In the vision of the center of the whole thing was the whole young justice team all chained and tied up, hanging above hot boiling lava of fire.
Wally gasped, immediately closing the mirror and quickly putting it away, right as Dick came back in with two flashlights.
"Come on, Wally, Bats said we can go to the mansion and hangout." He said, grinning.
Wally slowly smiled, unsure of what to do, if he should tell his best friend what had just happened or not. He felt his stomach turn as he looked at his friend, worried as he thought about the vision he saw. Was it all bound to happen soon? If it was, then when? And why wasn't he part of being hanged like all of his friends?
Little did he know, Joker had already gained his mind as soon as he opened the mirror.
