Chapter Four

"Fine." Andy tries to play cool. "You can stay."

"Great." Maggie sighed.

"So, have any food we can eat?" Amelia asked and earned herself another slap on her arm. "Ow. Sorry, I'm just hungry!" Amelia tried to defend herself and heard Andy giggling, "Oh, yeah, Maggie hurting me is so funny."

"No, what's funny is that I said you could come in and stay. Not that you can eat my food," Andy joked.

Maggie giggled and Amelia just had a shell-shocked expression on her face.

"Come, make yourselves comfortable. I'll order some Chinese food for us since it seems like you didn't bring any food with you like Meredith said you would." Andy teased and then hesitated, "If that's okay with you two?"

"Yeah, that's perfect. Thank you, Herrera." Maggie said.

Andy scoffs. "Please. You're in my home, you know about my panic attacks and how bad they get. You can call me Andy."

Amelia tried to hold in her giggles at the look on Maggie's face. "Thanks for not kicking us out, Andy. We'll cover the food if you want?"

Andy smiled. "That'd be great. Thank you so much." Maggie and Amelia smiled.

"It's the least we can do," Amelia told her. There was a pause between the three women when there was a knock heard at the door. "Damn, Andy. I didn't know you got food delivered that fast here."

Andy, however, looked confused. "I haven't even put in an order yet." Maggie and Amelia looked at each other.

"Then who's at the door?" Amelia asked.

"How the hell would I know?" Maggie asked back.

"I wasn't asking you, Mags. Duh." Amelia shot back.

"Can you two shut up for a moment please?" Andy whisper-shouted, not knowing who was on the other side of the door. Andy waits for them to snap their mouths shut and then sighs before opening the door. She was surprised to see Carina standing there, tear tracks clear on her face and before she could get a word out Carina started.

"I know. You didn't expect to see me here and I know it's random and maybe even weird, but I needed to be with someone and so far, you're the one who seems to be a rock for everyone, and you have no idea how much I appreciate that." Carina spoke, all in one breath, before storming into the apartment and stopping when she saw Amelia and Maggie. "Oh, God. I'm so sorry, Andy. I didn't even think that you may have company."

Andy didn't say anything, she just closed the door and looked back and forth at the three women in the room and quickly became overwhelmed. Here Amelia and Maggie were saying it was okay that she wasn't okay while Carina was here, needing someone to lean on and therefore thinking that she was solid and perfectly okay. She started to panic, she felt it coming on. She could feel herself getting sweaty and she didn't know what to do, she knew what was about to happen and felt powerless to stop it.

"You guys need to leave now," Andy spoke calmly.

"No," Amelia said shortly. "We're not leaving you alone."

"She won't be alone, I'll be here," Carina told them, oblivious to what was really going on with Andy.

"You too, Carina." Andy looked up at her, eyes shining with unshed tears.

"What? But your note said you would be here for me whenever I need it." Carina told her, sounding hurt, "You're just going to take it back," Carina looked down at her wrist watch, "8 hours later?"

"I don't know what's happening here, but Andy has her own problems to worry about," Amelia said, sticking up for Andy but only leading to Andy panicking more.

"All of you. Please fucking leave." Andy spoke, trying to keep her breathing under control.

"No!" Maggie shouted, "We promised Meredith we would look out for you."

"Well, I'm sorry but what I need now is Meredith. She's the only one who gets me and what I need." Andy told them, trying to compose herself. She breathed in and out, in and out, Andy. Keep going. You need to calm down. Ignore them. Focus on you. Andy kept saying to herself in her head.

"Why would Andy need anyone to look after her? She's not going through anything right now." Carina said, not knowing how wrong her own words were and how harsh they were.

Andy wrapped her arms around herself and moved over to the couch, sitting down. Amelia was watching Andy's movements as Maggie and Carina were arguing and when she saw Andy begin to hyperventilate, she stepped in. "SHUT UP!" Maggie and Carina stopped talking and turned to Amelia. "can't you see what you two are fucking doing to her right now? You're making her panic more." Amelia pointed out, pointing to Andy who was breathing faster as seconds passed by. "You two need to go into a different room. Maggie, pass me the bag we brought please." Amelia asked calmly, knowing Andy needed her to be calm right now. Maggie handed Amelia the bag and she pulled out the oxygen tank. "Hey, Andy, I'm just going to cover her mouth and nose with this mask, okay?" Amelia asked, waiting for a response from Andy, not wanting to do anything to set her off further. It took a couple of seconds, but Andy nodded and let Amelia place the mask around her face.

"Can someone please tell me what's going on right now?" Carina asked, freaked out seeing Andy like this.

I wasn't sure how to end this chapter, this felt like the best place though.
