chapter three — abusive (should-be-ex) girlfriend.

. . .

"FUCK, IM SO HUNGRY. They should let us eat in class." Jecka complained.

"You haven't already been doing that?" Niyah asked.

Jecka shook her head. "No? Imagine how embarassing it'd be to open a bag of chips and then everyone in class turns to look at you."

"Dumbass, you're not supposed to eat stuff with loud packaging in class. You can eat like, starbursts. Those are quiet." Niyah recommended while Jecka looked unconvinced.

"And that's supposed to keep me full?"

Niyah shrugged. "It keeps me full."

"Damn, no need to brag."

The two girls looked over to their right as they heard footsteps nearing, seeing it was Nicole and Ari. "Hey Ari, hey Nicole." Jecka waved at them.

"Hey. Is it just me or have I been super hungry lately?" Nicole remarked and Jecka quickly agreed.

Niyah rolled her eyes. "Okay, are you guys saying this because I took the McDonalds last week? Do you think I'm gonna feel bad and set up a buffet for you two?"

"Shit, that would've been a good idea! Nicole, we totally should've guilt tripped her!" Jecka exclaimed.

"Well, that opportunity's passed now," Nicole replied, "and I'm actually hungry, not in a guilt tripping type of way, Niyah. I would go get the school lunch but it usually tastes like dog shit.

"I think they have good stuff sometimes—" Ari started to speak before Nicole abruptly cut her off.

"Nobody asked you. But Ari's right, sometimes rhe lunch is good. I don't know what's for lunch today though so I'm just gonna assume it's something nasty."

"It's actually something good today. It's those spicy chicken sandwiches." Niyah said, remembering how she saw a few of the other students walking out with the chicken sandwich on their trays.

"Shit, really? Can you get me one?" Jecka asked.

Niyah gave Jecka a dirty look. "Hell no. Get it yourself, I'm not your servant.

"I actually want a chicken sandwich too. Ari, go get us the chicken sandwiches." Nicole asked, or more so told, Ari to do.

"But that line's long, it's gonna take forever." Ari tried to reason her way out of having to get the girls food but Nicole didn't really care about anything Ari had to say.
