Mulligan sat the balcony, trying to process what he just did. He thought of Lloyd and their last fight before he left three years ago.
"You stupid bitch!"
"Mulligan, I'm sorry!"
He put his head in his hand. He remembered how far Lloyd went after he slapped him. He didn't mean to, really he didn't. He still doesn't know why. It wasn't the first time either.
He still loved the hell out of him, he dreamt of him every night. He didn't want to talk to him anymore, though. Everytime he did, he feels so guilty. He should feel guilty. He looked over at the bedroom and saw Maria there, her ass in the air. Why? Why did he do it over and over again? She was pretty, yes, but he didn't love her. He didn't even like her. He was staying with her and her family in Puerto Rico. He was sad, she was horny, the excuses could go on forever. He had to stop, and last night was supposed to be a breakup of sorts. She started crying and told him she loved him, and for some stupid reason he said it back and they had sex.
She woke up and ran into the bathroom. He heard her throwing up. He got nervous, but there's no way. They only did it three times, you can't get pregnant from that. He was worried nonetheless, he's always worried about something. She's been sick for weeks and said her period was late.
"Hey, Maria," he knocked on the bathroom door. "I kinda stole a pregnancy test from my sister, I think you should take it."
"Ugh, fine." She came out after brushing her teeth, gagging. Mulligan gave her the test. "Give me five minutes."
She closed the door. He sat on the bed, still naked. She can't be pregnant, there's no way. He could leave her and go back with Lloyd, he doesn't need to know. Yeah, he'll do it today. She came out twenty minutes later, and sat on the bed next to him in her red panties and bra. Her black hair hid her face.
"Well?"
She put the pregnancy test on his lap. He had to stare at it twice. He looked up at her, eyes wide. Maria moved her hair so she could look at him in his eyes, crying.
"I don't love you, I don't know why I said I did..."
"I feel that way too, Jesus what are we gonna do..?"
She bit her nails. "How am I gonna tell daddy? How are you going to tell your mom?"
"We can't!"
"We have to! We don't believe in abortion and adoption here is shit!" She walked around the room. "We're fucked!"

"Alright, Sauveterre, here's your surprise!"
Cortéz pulled the sheet off to reveal the first plane built by their company. It was huge, thankfully there were stairs so he could get up tomorrow. It had the Vagu flag on it and it was a navy blue model. He tried not to smile like an idiot but it was hard. His eyes watered at the flag. Blue and white with a white star in the middle.
"It looks so nice, wow. It's so pretty and shining!"
"They spent months on it." He pulled the stairs out for him. "Go in, see if you like it."
With some struggle, he was able to get in. It was cold. It smelled like a brand new pair of shoes. It was his. He looked around. He saw buttons, controls, even a cup holder. All for him!
He got down. "This is great! And all for me!"
"Yes, yes!"
"Excuse me!" Someone ran up to him. "General Sauveterre, very important call for you!"
