You were put in the asylum, due to your mental ability to see through minds. Telling what people could think and see. You were constantly tested on, People always coming in and out of your small white padded room. Your life was difficult, and just as you were ready to give it all up, a ray of sunshine lit up your storm..

Another doctor slipped inside the room, holding your usual restraints and a syringe. A sigh escaped your lips as you readied yourself to get tested on once again. Your mind thought back to before this awful place, back when things were simpler..

You were born with a beautiful ability, as your mother called it, to see into a persons mind. You saw the colors of their thoughts, and the patterns of there sight. You could transfer your own conscience into another's. You were truly extraordinary.

Though, the people of your town didn't think so, they often scolded you for being born, as if it were something you could control. You couldn't help but peer into what people were thinking, it intrigued you like nothing else. This only made the people angrier when you told them what they were thinking about, so you decided to stay silent, muting yourself to any person but your mother. She was a kind, caring woman, who didn't mind the ability you were cursed with. Your mother accepted it, loving every part of your strange ways. Although sometimes, she would lie to you, telling you that the people would grow out of their hatred for something so different. They never did. 3 years went by, each day worse then the last as you were constantly scolded just for being alive. Some days you would sit up in your room, wishing for this curse to leave you. Other days you would walk around a forest nearby, humming and singing to yourself. You avoided the town, only walking the streets with your mother when she went to get food.
Even then, you never enjoyed it much. The only thing that made it tolerable was your mom, her hand on yours as she smiled down at you softly. She was so kind.. For a moment, you saw pure kindness in her mind, nothing but love for you. You would smile back, your teeth showing as you giggled. You still remember that day..The day you and your mother went out to get greens, she needed them for a soup she was going to make tonight. She smiled down at you, as usual, and you would smile back. The people of the town rarely sold her anything, due to her horrid child. Though there was still a couple of good shops that still allowed you two. It hurt. Knowing nearly everyone in this cursed town hated you so deeply. Your mother walked you down to one of the stores. But you were stopped on the street.

Your mind went dark, causing a terrible headache. Immediately clutching your head, small groans began leaving your lips. More Doctors.

No.

He stopped you on the street.

Tears began welling in your eyes as the doctors ran in and out of your room.

You wish they would just leave.

..

You heard your mother screaming..

"Don't take them..! Please.! There all I have.!"

She sounded so sad.

The doctors.

Hot needles began being poked into your skin, snapping you back to reality.

I hate it here.

Your breath quickened as he moved around under your skin..

With your eyes darting around the room, tears fell from your face quicker and quicker.

Wheres my mother?

Where is she?

What have you done to her?

Your breath quickened.

The doctors began leaving.

You grasped your head, hyperventilating as you sobbed.

No.

Wait.

Don't leave me.

Don't leave me.

"Don't leave me!"

You reached out, wishing someone would hold your hand, just like she did. For a moment, one of the doctors stopped. A woman, she looked back at you with sympathy.. But your hand fell empty, hitting the padded floors of your confinement. The door closed, sealing automatically.

It was dark.

You never liked the dark.

..

Or did you?

Another day in your own personal hell. Filled with tests and medicines that were said to cure me but never did. Your tired. Tired of living. Tired of tests. Tired of the doctors. You wanted to go home.. You sighed as your mind drifted from your current life, to your past life. Everyday you had a rule. To remember that fateful day until you got out. Though, when you attempted to remember what had happened that day, your head began throbbing, you clutched it immediately, wishing for it to go away as soon as it started. You wanted to remember.
No.
Needed.
You kept trying to push your brain, thinking of every possible solution to your problem.
Your head immediately snapped towards the door, which had opened while you were trying to remember your past.
Someone stood there with the doctor.
Your face lit up with confusion, he was the first person who wasn't suited up that you had seen in a long time.

"This is Emil. You two will be paired together for you time here."

A short explanation, as usual for most things here. Emil. The boy had short messy black hair, with deep green eyes. He wore various bandages around his body, the most noticeable one being the one wrapped around his head. He looked so scared. He was new. The door shut, you being snapped back into reality and away from your head. The only light in your room hung up by a thread on the roof, so the room wasn't too dark. He looked around the room, visibly scared as his gaze stopped on you. You tilted your head softly before he took a step towards one of the corners straight across from you. He sat himself there, squeezing himself as far into the padded walls as he could before he curled up into a ball, lowering his head onto his knees. A slight smile made its way onto your lips, looking at the strange new person in front of you. You closed your eyes, readying yourself to peer inside his mind. See what he's done to be here.

...

Nothing.

You got nothing.

His head..was so dark.
You couldn't see the patterns of his sight, nor the shades of thoughts he was thinking. It was so..dark..

You liked the dark.
