Bright and early the next morning I was seated in my office going over my agenda for the day. Three meetings, a ton of emails to go through, on top of the slew of evidence from cases I had to review. Needless to say, I was not in the mood. Especially because it was Friday. I took a sip of my iced latte and started with the emails. Slowly sifting through them, one by one, trying not to let the events of the previous night distract me. I had yet to stop thinking about it and each time I did, a smile crept across my face. I was glad I had my own office so no one could see me biting my lip and grinning like an idiot. That was until Junmyeon decided to waltz right in.

"I'm guessing you had a good night then?" He said, sitting in the chair across my desk with a playful smile on his face. I rolled my eyes at him.
"Good morning, Prince Charming." I teased. I called him that because not a hair was ever out of place whenever I saw him. He was intelligent, witty, kind, and everyone loved him as soon as they met him. It was hard not to. This paralegal always kept his cool, even when under extreme pressure from the lawyers. He really was the overall perfect man. His fiancé was lucky.

"Good morning, Brielle." He replied. "So?"
"I thought you didn't approve of going out on a worknight?"
"I don't, but I'm curious since you are actually here and not hung over." He said, picking up the stress ball from my desk and tossing up in the air.
"That's because I'm a pro." I smirked, taking a sip of my drink.
"Sure." It was his turn to roll his eyes.
"Since you're so interested, nothing really happened. Went to Boomerang with Sophia, she ditched me, found a cute guy and went back to his place." I said nonchalantly.
"Wait, really?" He sat up straight, blinking incredulously.
"Why do you sound surprised? You're the one who suggested it."
"Well, yeah, but I didn't think you'd actually do it." He said, relaxing his posture. "You explicitly said you don't "do" one-night stands."

"What can I say? Carpe diem." I shrugged.
"How do you feel about it?"
"Ten out of ten would do it again."
"Wow, was he really that good?"
"Absolutely."
"Did you get his number?"
"Absolutely not."
"Brielle." He groaned.
"That's not the point of a one-night stand."
"I mean...You're right." He sighed.
"It was fun in the moment."
"So what now?"

"What do you mean?" I asked back. My computer pinged, signaling that I received a new email.
"You said you needed something or someone to keep you from going back to Jongin." As always, I physically tensed up at the sound of his name. I thought I was finally free of him until I found out he started working at my firm a few weeks ago. He's another charmer. Also, a litigator which was very fitting for his personality. We dated off and on for two years. Me leaving then stupidly going back to him because he could sweet talk the pearl out of a clam. He would cheat, I would forgive him. He would throw me aside, I would go crawling back. We used to work in the same building so I would see him all of the time until I left. I thought it would give me the space I needed if I didn't physically see him so often, but I happened to run into him in the café on the ground floor one day and have yet to be back since.

"I'll find something eventually." I kept my gaze away from Junmyeon by clicking open the email from Sarah Collins.
"I think you should give dating apps a try, especially if you're that insistent on being in a relationship."
"I'm not." I shot him a glare. He held his hands up in defense.
"That's just what it sounded like."
"I need to stop talking to you so much about my love life." I groaned.
"You only do it because you need a sane male perspective." He grinned proudly.
"Get out, I have work to do." I said. He chuckled and stood.
"Wanna get lunch later with me and Mins?"
"Yeah, let me know when." He nodded and set my stress ball down before leaving my office, closing the door behind him.

It was now Wednesday. Usually, my weekends were uneventful allowing me the freedom to laze around and pine over the romance I wish I had but knew I wasn't ready for. However, after that email on Friday from Sarah Collins I had been working overtime on an apparently very important case for a "Mr. Byun", whom I was about ready to throw my computer at. Sarah was his assistant and continued to send messages and documents back and forth for her boss which was starting to get on my nerves. He and his team had gathered so much evidence on a case that they sent to me for review. Half of it couldn't be used, which he should have known, but he had the audacity to try and argue with me about it through his assistant. Then asked me to do some research for him. He was one of the litigators I don't think I had ever worked with unless it was through someone else, but just like the rest of the entitled lawyers in the firm, I was beginning to really not like him.
