Caged

In shadows cast by iron bars, a woman weeps
Her spirit caged, like a bird that never sleeps.
Feathers once vibrant, now dulled by despair,
Trapped in a cage of sorrow, a heart laid bare.

A melody of solitude, a melancholy tune,
She hums in silence, beneath the moon.
A melody of longing, a song untold,
Within the bars, her dreams unfold.

A song unsung, imprisoned in her chest,
Echoes of longing, a heart's silent protest.
In gilded bars, her vibrant colors fade,
A kaleidoscope of joy, now a monochrome shade.

Moonlit tears stain the cage's floor,
Echoes of a freedom, she craves more.
Yet, the bars persist, a cruel refrain,
As she yearns for skies, for gentle rain.

Through iron lattice, she casts her gaze,
Lost in memories, in a melancholy daze.
A captive heart, in the solitude it grieves,
For liberty lost among autumn leaves.

Each flutter echoes a silent plea,
To break the chains, to set her free.
But the cage endures, an unforgiving dance,
A tragic tale of circumstance.

Oh, gentle heart, trapped in fate's cruel cage,
Your spirit, undaunted, despite the rage.
May the winds of change lift your wings,
And with the sunrise, the melody of freedom sings.
