Chapter 11 page 1

Markus and the others came across what seemed to be a recently abandoned hideout he looked around and saw a torn piece of Blanche's  cloak. " he...was here whoever took Blanche was here with him FUCK! IF I HAD BEEN FASTER I...I could have saved him."

Flynn looked at Markus a tired look on his face  Markus " hey maybe we should rest we've been at this for months now I understand your worried for Blanche's safety we all are but running on empty won't help us."

Markus clenched his fists, frustration and guilt coursing through his veins. He knew Flynn was right, that they couldn't keep pushing themselves beyond their limits. However, the thought of resting while Blanche's life hung in the balance felt unbearable.

"I know, Flynn," Markus replied, his voice laced with weariness and desperation. "But every moment we waste, every second we spend resting, Blanche could be in more danger. I can't just sit here while he's out there, God knows where."

Flynn approached Markus, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. "I understand your pain, Markus. We all do. Blanche is like family to us. But we won't be any good to him if we burn ourselves out. We need to take care of ourselves if we want to have any chance of finding him."

Markus sighed, exhaustion evident in his eyes. He knew that Flynn was speaking the truth, even if it was hard to accept. "You're right, Flynn. I just...I feel so damn helpless. If only I had been faster..."

The others in the group, worn and battle-weary, gathered around Markus and Flynn, their expressions a mix of concern and solidarity. Alicia, their group's medic, stepped forward with a gentle smile. "Markus, we're doing everything we can to find Blanche. We won't give up on him, but we also need to take care of ourselves along the way."

Markus nodded, his resolve strengthening as he looked at his companions. "You're all right. We'll take some time to rest and regroup. But know that as soon as we're ready, we'll hit the ground running. We won't stop until we bring Blanche back home."

The group found a secure location within the hideout, careful to remain vigilant even in their moments of respite. They tended to their wounds, nourished their tired bodies, and allowed themselves a brief moment of solace.

But even as they rested, their minds were consumed by thoughts of Blanche and the unknown fate that awaited him. Their determination to rescue him burned brighter than ever, fueling their commitment to continue the search.

With each passing moment, Markus felt the weight of responsibility grow heavier on his shoulders. He vowed to himself and to Blanche that he would do whatever it took to bring him back safely, no matter the risks.

As night enveloped the abandoned hideout, Markus stared at the stars, a silent prayer forming in his mind. He knew that the road ahead would be perilous, but he also held onto a glimmer of hope. Hope that they would find Blanche and bring him back to the group that awaited him with open arms.

Flynn took a deep breath as they rested near  a campfire. " Seraphine. You haven't been pumping your weight, and I've noticed you have more energy than everyone else, which means you have been taking extra rations  care to explain?" Flynn said, narrowing his emerald green eyes at her.

Seraphine stopped eating for a moment hesitant to answer, " i...I will admit I have been taking extra rations for myself BUT I'M STARVING WE HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR BLANCHE FOR WEEKS NOW AND WE HAVENT EVEN STOPPED TO EAT OR REST TILL TONIGHT!"

Flynn's gaze hardened as he listened to Seraphine's explanation. He understood the desperation and hunger they all felt, but he couldn't ignore her actions. "Seraphine, I get it. We're all exhausted, hungry, and worried. But that doesn't justify taking more than your fair share. We're a team, and we have to look out for each other."
