*3rd person*
Heavy monitor sounds were heard beeping through the muffling glass. Voices and demands were heard along the ruckus. It didn't take long before the young hoglet began to breathe on his own through an oxygen tube. He opened his eyes, glaring around through the blurry and murky liquid. He noticed himself being in a curled up position. His arms tightly hold his knees to his chest without being able to move them yet. He looked down upon the metal oxygen mask. A panic struck through his veins the more aware the little hoglet became.
For around two minutes, the disturbing demands and loud machinery became more clear as he felt the murky liquid starting to tap out. The small hog lay motionless on the metal draining plate, which acted like a floor for the tube he was stuck inside of.
The glass door soon slid open, allowing access for a pair of gloved hands to pick up the young mobian, the hands being big enough to cradle him perfectly. His eyes were half open, his vision blurry from the water within his eyes. The hands carried him into a pure white room. As a cold breeze blew from an air vent in the top corner of the room, the space felt empty and bland, with a two-way mirror now occupying the spot where the wall once stood. They shut the door after placing him on the cold tiled floor and began cleaning him off. They were careful with the fragile little hog. Cleaning out his ears, lion-mane, and thick pelt. Which took around thirty minutes to finish.
Once the scientists left the room, they locked and shut it tight. The scientists entered a separated room to observe him through the two-way mirror for a one hour period. The small mobian began to look around, doing small movements such as moving his arms and legs around, getting used to the nerves in his own paws. His ears flicked a few times from each passing moment due to the buzzing sound of florescent lights attached to the ceiling, giving a dim light upon the dark red furred hedgehog.
"How are you feeling, Project Elysium?"
A rash and stern voice spoke through the old speaker. Elysium's ears moved toward the sound, his head rotating soon after to see where the sound came from. He didn't speak. Not even a nod or shake of reassurance answered the male scientist. Behind the glass, a female assistant checked a few items on a clipboard she held in her hands, analyzing the subject's actions. The hoglet began stumbling around, carefully moving one paw after the other as he learned how to walk around on his own. Elysium flicked his ears, not knowing what to do while he stood around, lost on his surroundings and what he was doing. He sniffed the air, a disturbing smell similiar to that of a permanent marker filled the air. He snarled and gagged at the taste, soon feeling himself growing tired, falling down so he could sit with his legs before him. His head spun around in circles and he soon passed out from the sleeping gas as it took its effect.
"Take him to the test room. We'll run tests of his biological system first. Make sure the subject doesn't fail on the way."
The young male spoke over to his companions. Soon, a small surgical table was pushed into the room. The sleeping hog was picked up and placed onto the table and then carefully transported through the halls. A slightly taller rabbit hybrid walked past the rolling table, his ears perking up as he stopped to turn and see the younger subject sleeping on the table. His focus turned away, and he continued to make his way toward his own subject bedroom, leaving the scientists to their work.
Once the scientists entered the room, they secured the table on a flat surface in an open room. Monitors surrounded the work area as scientists took blood samples and attached tubes and wires to Elysium in a careful manner. Elysium was deeply asleep while three hours' worth of experimenting passed by.
The professor and owner of Elysium entered the room, circling and observing their work. He was stern and kept a serious expression, keeping a close eye on the actions and objects the scientists worked with. He spoke in a harsh and dark tone toward his workers.
"Be careful with the subject. He's our most valuable at the moment... if you fail to keep this one alive, then you'll be destroying months' worth of work to create the perfect doomsday weapons."
The doctor spoke harshly, towering over most workers. He moved his hand to his face and twists his giant mustache. His laboratory goggles glimmered in the dim light attached to the ceiling. His rubber shoes made squeaking sounds as he stepped across the tiled clean flooring. He moved over to a desk covered in scientific equipment, such as blood filled tubes, flasks, funnels, a few Petri dishes that are stored away in small cases in the corner of the desk, beakers filled with mutiple substances that has been carefully transported into seperate liquids to make new doses, and a few DNA samples which were locked in metal cases and stored atop shelves.
"Be careful with those beakers... it took us three years to successfully find and come up with a new substance. I'll make sure you swallow those burning fluids if you mess up my work."
He spoke sternly while observing the scientists. He sat on an office chair beside them and put on gloves. He took a sharp, long needled syringe to pull in some of the finished formula. A few droplets spat on a paper towel as he held the syringe in the air and pressed down on the plunger to push out any air bubbles within the syringe.
"This should be enough... Is my project awake yet?"
He got up, walking over to Elysium, who was still passed out on the table and kept asleep with Anastasia.
"It shouldn't wake up anytime soon, Doctor... Its tests are coming out as expected. Bones are strong and firm, muscles are already building up the more they move, and their blood results are coming out as envisioned."
A female assistant spoke while checking off things from her clipboard before speaking up again.
"We should be able to do physical experiments soon, hopefully within a week, depending on how well it progresses."
The doctor groaned to his assistant's wording toward his project. He waved her off, stepping closer to Elysium.
"Call my work an "it" one more time, and I'll make sure you become a "was".
*He spoke harshly, carefully lifting Elysium's head and moved away his chest fluff, that resembled the mane of a lion, from his neck before cleaning the area and injecting him with the dark greenish blue fluid into his system.*
"This is supposed to strengthen his body. If our theory is correct, his quills and blades should strengthen... his regeneration should be more effective and faster, as well as his blood pumping stronger. Hopefully, he manages to contain such strength..."
He spoke proudly and cautiously before taking out the needle and cleaning the spot he injected, plastering the spot with a colorful red plaster that had a cherry pattern covering the top of it. He pats Elysium's head, his gloves protecting his palm from Elysium's sharp quills.
"Let him rest for the next two days. We need him to adapt to his new environment and get used to his brother and sister... we don't want them to fight and die, now do we?"
He chuckled menacingly before caressing his mustache and stood up, taking off his gloves.*
"And he needs to get used to everyone in my lair.. If he doesn't. Well... Gods know what catastrophic events he may cause... he does contain two of the strongest hedgehog's DNA, after all..."
He smirked before leaving the lab. Walking down the hall and toward his office. Menacing laughter followed his fainting footsteps in a slow rhythm... who knows what's going through his mind....
