Elysium sat on the carpet in the middle of his room while fidgeting with some objects that the scientists like to call "blood tubes," but these particular tubes were empty and clean. He was on his own with silence surrounding him, with only the sound of the AC making his ears flick every so often, despite the small sounds he would occasionally copy when clashing the glass tubes against one another. The air surrounding him was cold and damp, making him feel a sense of loneliness. Although it was nothing new to him. The hedge-hybrid sat crossed-legged on the fluffy white carpet with his back facing the AC, leaving the cold breeze blowing through his quills and fur, which kept him calm and peaceful for such a violent creature.

Elysium would occasionally hear footsteps outside of his closed up room. Some were heels, some were boots. Some would even be thuds of slow and heavy metal thuds, which would slowly make its way across the hall, but some steps confused him.. Steps resembling his own. Paws tip-tapping through the echoing halls, some hopped, some sounded like a stampede to him. They were fast or rushed but never as calm and quiet as the boots and heels that he'd only notice crossing his room when passing by his door. The thuds he heard were like the metal. He could hear them coming from around the long corner of the hall.

Suddenly, a loud siren could be heard screaming through the base, with red flashes peeking through the small gaps from his metal sliding door. Elysium was used to this. It was the only sudden and abrupt audio that would be activated at least twice a day. Of course, he wouldn't know the true reason as to why these sirens went off. It wasn't like he never asked. They just never gave him a tight awnser to stick with, so he stopped asking about it and dropped his trust into listening to his owner's lame excuses after each annoying round of endless chaos.

A knock on Elysium's door caught his attention as quick as a flash. He jumped up and half-skipped his way to the door. The tiny creature stood on his paw toes just to reach the handle, which unlocked the sliding door. He pulled the thick and heavy metal door open, only to be left with nothing in its wake. No one was outside, even if he peeked to look down the halls. He sighed and pushed it closed once more, automatically locking itself. Elysium went back to sit on his carpet, continuing his makeshift fantasy world with the few blood tubes he could entertain himself with. His expression was a lot more frustrated and stern. He hated when being fooled like that and never knowing who it was to invade his silence or to be left in the dark with simple questions.

The door unlocked and opened once more, allowing his favorite scientist to enter the room. He turned his head to see Shyla and his least favorite officer. Elysium jumped up and hopped into Shyla's arms, hugging her as tightly as he ever could. The officer tapped his paws, silently telling him to get off while he held his gun over his chest. Elysium rolled his eyes and got off Shyla, smiling up at her like the happiest thing in the world.

"It seems like you've been keeping yourself busy with the tubes I gave you? You should be grateful Doctor Robotnick didn't need them today. Otherwise, I would be the one in trouble."
