your eyes speak to me,
pulling me in like warm honey
as i soak in your sweetness.

i sink deeper,
allowing it to cover me completely.
a completely new sensation,
comforting.

where were you all this time?
as i crawled my way through a raging storm,
i found my home in your embrace.
a soothing retreat.

you envelop me like the last slivers of afternoon sun,
the 4pm golden hour,
a perfect moment frozen in time.

my heart calls to you,
you've made it your home.
the imprint of your soul on mine.
what utter perfection.

me and you,
spread out on the warm afternoon sand
as we watch the sun wave goodbye
and laugh at ourselves.

#005- afterword

ive been thinking about love a lot lately. i think loads of people tend to think of it as something black and white, but as i grow older i find love is just every single colour on the spectrum. love is such a wide umbrella term, i cant even begin to think of a definition or categories to give it. all i know, is that when you love someone they leave an impact on you. you see beauty in everything they do, and you get mad when they dont find it in themselves. each and every time you love, you change. its like when a cat rubs against something and leaves its scent, every person leaves a mark on you.

i wrote this poem while thinking of a friend. she's someone i only met this year but gosh i wouldn't trade her for a thing. i love love love her so much, she's been w me thru everything and oh how kind she is. genuinely, I've never met a person as lovely as she is.

malsfav this poem is for u!! when you get back and read this (and the many more things ill get for you) i hope you remember how loved and valued you are.
