– THREE YEARS LATER –

"GOOD MORNING, NOODLE." JULIE SENT THE young girl a small smile as she walked into the washing room. Over the time she had been here, her and Noodle had grown close. Julie quickly took the motherly role of Noodles life when she had heard what Noodle had gone through, and Noodle happily accepted Julie becoming a mother figure to her.

"Good morning, Jules." Noodle muttered as she rubbed her eyes. "How was your day so far?"

"Oh you know. Same old, same old." Julie sighed as she put her hair up. "Ready to go?" Noodle nodded and walked to the laundry cart. "Alright. Let's do this." Julie smiled and held her hand out for Noodle to fist bump. Noodle let out a laugh and fist bumped the woman.

"What's got you in such a good mood today?" Noodle asked as she pushed the cart out the door.

"I don't know. I just have a feeling today is going to be great." Julie smiled as she walked next to Noodle. "You ever get that feeling?"

"No." The duo chuckled but deep down they knew that was true. No one could ever have a happy thought when they were trapped in a building, forced to work their asses off for their own freedom. "Come on, we have a long day ahead of us." Julie groaned but nodded none the less.

As the two walked around the town, they laughed and joked, enjoying the small glimpse of freedom they got. "So, tell me another story." Noodle looked over at Julie.

"Maybe later, N" Julie told the young girl. Noodle groaned but nodded nonetheless. "Back to the shit hole we go." Noodle chuckled and followed Julie as she pushed the cart.

"Julie! Julie! Julie!" Noodle whisper yelled as she walked into Julie's room. Julie mumbled something and curled further into her very thin blanket. "Julie there is a new guest!" Julie quickly sat up and looked at the young girl wide eyed.

"What?" Julie questioned as she slipped her shoes on. Everyone knew better then to walk around this building barefoot, let time Julie made that mistake she got a shard of glass from a gin bottle up her foot.

"Yeah! I heard Scrubbot talking to someone!" Julie quickly followed Noodle down to the entrance. The two stood behind the shelves, listening to Ms.Scrubbot and someone talk. Julie could tell it was a man, she could also tell he was American by his accent.

Julie watched as Noodle opened a small window that showed infront of the shelves. She bent down so her face was right next to Noodle, "Read the small print!" Noodle whispered making the man look up from the paper.

"What?" The man questioned quietly, leaning forward slightly.

"Don't sign the paper!" Julie whispered making the man raise his eyebrows and glance at Ms.Scrubbot. The owner quickly shut the tiny window making Julie sigh.

"He's going to sign the paper, isn't he?" Julie questioned making Noodle nod with a small frown. "Great. Another soul trapped in this shit hole." Julie scoffed as her and Noodle made their way to their rooms. Julie walked into her room and took off her shoes, but quickly put them back on as Ms.Scubbot walked down the hall.

"Julie! Noodle!" Mrs.Scubbot called out. Julie winced, knowing what was to come.

"Yes, Ms.Scrubbot?" Julie asked as she stepped out of her room. Julie took in a sharp breath as Ms.Scubbot grabbed her by her hair and dragged her to 'the cold place' as Julie called it. "Ow!" Julie whined as the old woman threw her into the room.

"What have I told you about messing with my business?" Ms.Scubbot asked as she glared at the girl infront of her.

"Don't mess with your business." Julie muttered as she rubbed her head. She had smacked it when she hit the ground. How Ms.Scubbot had so much strength at her age baffled Julie. Ms.Scrubbit gave a short nod and locked the door after she walked out.

"She got you too?" Julie questioned as Noodle was thrown into the room as well. Noodle nodded and wrapped her jacket around her tighter. "Come here." Noodle happily leaned into Julie's side, her head rested on Julie's shoulder while her legs were layed over Julie's. As Noodle shivered Julie sat up and took off her own jacket and placed it over Noodle like a blanket.

"What about yo–" Julie shushed Noodle and held her closer.

"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine." Noodle stared at her for a moment but leaned into Julie nonetheless.

"Sing a song?" Noodle looked up at Julie. Julie nodded and cleared her throat.

"Take it from someone like me
When your hopes are in despair
If your desires have strings
Feed them, give them some air
'Cause any wish that's got your heart
On the edge of breaking
Is a wish worth making

Yeah, everybody dreams
To be something, someday, somewhere
Even kings and queens
Daydream to be free from their royal chairs
Well, any dream that's got your heart Even when you're not sleeping
Is a dream worth dreaming

Yeah, we all start as wildlings
Playin' in the sun
Then we grow up with wild dreams
Just waitin' for our day to come

So, if Hope schemes against Time Tell them, "Be nice, play fair"
Yeah, they may kick and cry, yeah But just show them they're better when paired
'Cause if they both can hold your heart
There's no way you're not sowing
A dream that will never stop growin'

Yeah, any wish that's got your heart
On the edge of breaking
Is a wish worth making..."

Julie smiled down at the girl in her arms. Noodle was softly snoring, her mouth open slightly. "Goodnight, Noodle." Julie whispered before shutting her eyes. She could swear she heard clapping coming from a distance but she shook her head and placed her head on top of Noodles.
