She lied down in her cage like usual. She has been here for around a hundred years and have yet to truly left her cage. If she did, it was to help Peter with something and she would have to go back immediately. Her poor brothers were off doing god knows what for Peter so that she wouldn't die, and she sat in that cage all day and all night so he wouldn't kill her brothers. It was just a lose-lose situation for everyone except Peter.
Wendy just closed her eyes and tried to go to sleep. At first it was hard to fall asleep with the bonfires that they have almost every night, but soon the noise became like a white noise to her. She was use to loud noises at night when she lived in London, but this was a different kind of loud noise. In London, it was a busy kind of loud noise, here, it was the bad neighbor throwing an obnoxious party every night all night kind of noise. Unlike being born and raised in London where the noise is part of her nature, she had to grow use to this noise.
Soon, the noise died down, which she found odd. It almost seemed too early to stop. A couple of minutes later, She could here some of the boys coming towards the cage. She didn't want them to come get her, not right now, she was too tired and wasn't in the mood to do anything for him.
Wendy turned to her side to face them to see what was happening. They had a boy... no, more like a teenager being held captive by the hands of two of the lost boys. They were talking but she couldn't make out the words. It couldn't have been the truest believer yet, it was too early and he looked much too old to be an eleven year old boy. It had to have been the other boy that Peter needed help from. She can't quite get his name. It was an interesting name though. It started with a J. Jo... Jon... Jonah... Jonas! That's his name, Jonas. She thought to herself. Wendy couldn't see his face, but she was curious. She heard the other boys and Peter talk about him coming, never thinking he would be put in a cage.
She watches as they raise him in the air, feeling bad for him. No one should have to go through what she is going through right now. She could hear Felix call up to him saying "Sleep well." before leaving. He sounded like he was making frustrated noises saying something about Felix not liking him.
"Don't worry." she said. Wendy could see him looking around confused as to where the voice was coming from. She thought it was cute that he was almost scared of a harmless little voice like hers. "Over to your left." She smiled to herself. She could see his head turn and look at her. His eyes were dark like the sky, but they shined bright in the moon light.
"Excuse me?" he started. "What do you mean "don't worry"?" His voice was deep, but sweet, unlike Peters, which she found to be menacing.
"I heard you mumbling something about Felix not liking you. I'm just letting you know not to worry about it. He doesn't really like anyone. If he did, then that would be a special sight to see." She joked. He laughed a little. She liked his laugh. It was friendly.
"Thanks for the heads up." He replied. She could feel him staring at her. It wasn't a hard stare, like he was admiring her. It flattered her that he wanted to look at her.
"Why do you keep looking at me?" She asked chuckled and blushing a bit. "It may be dark, but I can feel you looking at me."
"Sorry."
"Don't be."
"If I had the ability, then I would shake your hand and introduce myself." He didn't need an introduction, Wendy already knew who he was. "Well, I already know your name is Jonas. I overheard Peter making plans for your arrival." It would be nice to have a proper introduction she thought to herself. "But if we ever get the chance, then we'll shake hands."
"Deal." Wendy could see Jonas adjusting himself to sit upright, but he was too tall and he had to bend to the side a bit. She laughed a bit. "So you know my name, do I get to know your name?" He asked in a flirty way.
"Wendy." She began. "Wendy Moira Angela Darling."
He didn't say anything at first. It confused her. Why isn't he saying anything? She thought to herself.
"Sorry, it's just..." Great, he's going to say something like it was an ugly name or whatever. "...that is such a beautiful name." His comment shocked her. It made her blush even more."Thank you."
"So why are you here? I thought Neverland was only for Lost Boys."
"It is, but one of my friends was taken here, so my brothers and I came here to tried and save him, only to find out that he had already escaped. Peter then caught us, and got the idea to take me hostage and send my bothers back to the mainland to do jobs for him. He is keeping them alive by me staying here, and he is keeping me alive by them doing whatever it is he wants them to do."
"I'm so sorry." It was a genuine apology.
"Don't be sorry, it isn't your fault."
"No, I refuse to believe that someone innocent like is here for someone like Pans own amusement!" He almost yelled. "I promise," he started in a more relaxed voice. "I will do whatever it is I have to do to get you out of here. When I do, I'll take you home to your brothers."
Her eyes started to get watery. No one ever made that promise to her. "You would really do that for me? You don't even know me."
"I don't need to know you to be a nice person."
"Thank you so much."
"Don't thank me yet. I haven't gotten you out just yet."
"But you will, knowing you will try is reason enough for me to say thank you."
"Your welcome." Then they just looked at each other, smiling. Even though Wendy knew there was no time in Neverland, but she felt like her time stopped when she looked at Jonas' face in the moon light.
