[ ISO's POV ]
I hear muffled talking and a heart monitor beeping, my eyes fluttered opened and I was met with a white ceiling.
- "can you hear me? how many fingers am I holding up?" Sage shoves her pale fingers in my face.
- "three.." I said, attempting to sit up but my shoulder and chest were throbbing, this is the most painful injury of my life.
I laid back down, Sage lifted the top side of the bed so I can be sat up.
The door swung open and hit the wall, which caught my attention, there stood before me Stella, tears streaming down her face. 'she's crying?'
'what the hell happened that made even her cry..'
She ran over to me, "you're alive, you're.. alive." was I under cardiac arrest?
- "Due to your condition now, you'll be off-duty for a few months until you fully heal, we'll see who can look after you." Sage explained.
- "I will."
I couldn't believe my ears, Stella? she's volunteering? even though I was a jerk to her, matter of fact, she's crying over me.. even though I was rude.. 'what the hell?'
- "Alright then, from now on Iso is your responsibility."
The others went for their missions and to rest, I was left alone with Stella,
- "why did you volunteer?" I asked.
- "because.. I care."
- "Why do you care.."
- "why do you always ask that? is it bad for me to care about you.."Care about me? she cares about me? she's probably messing around, no one ever truly cared about me.
- "I think it's about time you change my bandages."
- "oh right" she said, heading over to the cabinet full of bandages while I lifted one side of my bloody t-shirt up to my neck.[ YOUR POV ]
I walk back to the bed with all the supplies needed, just to find Iso's shirt halfway up on his neck, exposing half of his body, I can't lie, he's got a nice body. I tried to not let that distract me and took off the bloody bandages and put on the ointment, I could tell it hurt by the faces Iso was making, "just deal with it for a bit."
I had to get closer in order to wrap the bandage around his chest, I could feel my heart about to explode, it was such an awkward moment.
It was taking a while to wrap the bandage around his chest, I could tell he was getting tired of sitting up, "just a few more minutes."
As I was taking care of his injuries, I noticed his eyes tear up, 'am i trippin?'He turned to look at me, but I continued working on the bandages trying to give it no thought. He stared for a while, then mumbled in a soft voice: "you actually do care.."
"thank you... for caring"
