Chapter 8: S.A.D.N.E.S.S (FINALE)

I have two assignments due tomorrow but fuck that I'm writing the finale for this story instead lol

'Is this my new vessel?' Matt wondered, opening his eyes to find himself in a dumpster.

'I can't feel my heart beating. Wait...' Matt realized, lifting his arms and looking at his robotic arm.

'Am I...' That's right, his new vessel was his old death place, the D.E.M animatronic rabbit battle suit.

'I'm an animatronic? Whatever, this vessel will do. And right now, I have one goal. Revenge.' Matt thought to himself as the animatronics eyes turned blood red, matching the blood covering the animatronic.

'First let's get something straight, can I walk?' Matt wondered, attempting to stand up with the suit. His attempt was successful. 'Yes, I can.' Matt confirmed. 'And now, Lucifer!' Matt thought to himself. His Demon's abilities still activated and his ability to summon his weapons were successful as well.

'Okay, then. I'm back. Now let's get some sweet revenge, shall we?' Matt thought to himself as he walked out of the dumpster and onto the sidewalk.

"FEL! FEL! I'm so sorry, Fel! I should've taken you inside with me. Then they wouldn't have..." Felia paused, thinking about what had happened to Fel when he had to crawl away from the AST Brigade sent after him.

"Shido?" Yoshino tugged on Shido's tuxido.

"Yes, Yoshino?" Shido responded to Yoshino's call.

"Is Matt dead?" Yoshino asked the blunt question.

"Yes, Yoshino. That's why we're all here at his funeral." Shido sniffled, wiping a tear from his eye.

"Oh. So he's gone." Yoshino commented, also sniffling at the loss of Matt's presence.

"Are you gonna miss him?" Shido asked Yoshino.

"Of course I am..." Yoshino sniffled more as a tear fell down her eye. "What about you, Shido. Are you gonna miss Matt?" Yoshino asked him.

"Of course he isn't, Yoshino!" Yoshinon shouted.

"Huh? Why wouldn't I miss Matt?" Shido asked Yoshinon.

"Because of all the trouble he's caused you! We've watched it happen! He's tried to kill you and us on multiple occasions." Yoshinon remembered.

"Oh, my. Did I miss something?" Kurumi asked, showing up out of nowhere.

"Not now, Kurumi." Shido sighed.

"Did something happen?" Kurumi asked Shido.

"Well, Matt's dead. D.E.M and the AST went after him. Unfortunately, he just couldn't escape." Shido told her.

"I don't wanna point fingers, Shido, but I believe you're to blame for Matt's demise." Kurumi suggested.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Shido asked her.

"You went behind everyone's back and conspired with D.E.M to lure out M.A.D.N.E.S.S in an attempt to end his life. Do you really think you have no fault in his death?" Kurumi asked him. "And now you're holding a funeral for someone you tried to assassinate?" Kurumi pointed out, disappearing afterwards.

She was right. It was Shido's actions that led to Matt's death, but he didn't do anything direct to cause his death, which is why he believed he was safe from being accused of causing Matt's death.

Outside of what Ellen does with D.E.M, she's a relatively normal person, and today, she was shopping for groceries late at night. The reason why is because at night it's quiet and there's almost no line in any of the checkouts.
