Chapter 5: We Hate You

'When can I finally get out of here? My boss is probably worried about me.' Matt thought to himself.

'That battle... I totally would've had her.' "If she didn't show up, then her head would've been mine. I would've killed her." Matt thought to himself out loud.

"And then what?" Kotori asked him as she walked her and Reine walked into the room.

"What do you want?" Matt asked them.

"You would've killed her, then what? The AST would've had you as their new target." Kotori told Matt.

"So? I'll kill them if they attack me." Matt told Kotori. To which she sighed.

"Is violence always gonna be your go-to for problem solving?" Kotori asked him.

"It's worked so far. Once I'm out of this hospital bed, I'm finally gonna have some fun of my own." Matt told Kotori, to which she blushed, closed her legs and covered her chest.

"My eyes are up here!" Kotori shouted.

"I know." Matt replied to her.

Kotori sighs. "Anyways, congratulations. It's seems that you're able to walk again. Today, we were supposed to let you out of here, but if you're gonna behave like that, I can break your legs again and keep you here for another month tops." Kotori smiled. Matt shook his head in the negative.

'I guess I did miss this place.' Matt said as he stepped foot into the Itsuka residence for the first time in what felt like ages.

"Matt." Shido called out his name. Matt responded by walking over to him and waiting for his next words.

'He's mad.' Matt could tell.

"Why were you with Isaac Westcott at his base?" Shido asked him. "I'm asking you a question!" Shido shouted.

'I didn't even get an opportunity to answer.' Matt thought to himself.

"Why did you lie to us when you said you were going to America?! Why were you working with Isaac Westcott?!" Shido yelled at Matt, demanding answers, but not letting Matt give them to him.

"Working? Wait, hold up--" "Your plan was to kill Tohka, wasn't it?! That's why you were there! Your plan was to get Tohka to go inverse so you'd have an excuse to kill her!" Shido shouted before taking a breath. Shido's shouting had eventually caught the whole house's attention. The Yamai twins, Tohka, Yoshino and Natsumi were all watching the event unfold from various angles.

"That's not what happe--" "Us taking you in was a big mistake." Shido cut Matt off. "I never should've approached you. I had a feeling you were trouble the moment I saw you. Now I want you to pack your things. Because I don't want you here anymore. You're too dangerous and I just can't risk it. You've tried to kill us too many times and I'm done! I'm done! Get out!" Shido shouted.

Matt was speechless. He had no clue what to say. Matt summoned his Core Sword and pointed it toward Shido's neck. After a few seconds, Matt put his sword away and walked back to his now former room, gathered his stuff and then left.

'I knew I wasn't ready to have friends.' Matt thought to himself as he walked the streets of downtown at night.

'I knew there was gonna be a time where he'd turn on me. But I didn't think it'd happen so soon.' Matt thought to himself.
