Chapter 3: An Ultimatum

Shido's full of shock from Saturday's cataclysm. And had many questions like "What exactly happened?" "Who really is Matt?" and many other questions like that. And he was gonna get his answers.

He marched over to where Matt usually hung out at lunch and wanted to have a conversation with him. He was going against Kotori's word, but he didn't care. He wanted answers.

As he was walking, he felt a large beam of power embrace him.

"What is happening?" He wondered. As he looked around he noticed that gravity was pulling everyone down. Suddenly, the PA system turned on.

"Shido, can you hear me?" Kurumi spoke on the PA system. "If you have any business with me, please proceed to the roof. I think you would prefer to come as soon as possible." Kurumi smiled, putting down the PA system.

"Guess it's the roof." Matt decided as he began walking towards the stairs. But as he turned the corner, he witnessed Origami battling against Kurumi. Matt summoned his large Core sword and went into battle. One swing was all it took to take down Kurumi once more.

Matt looked at Origami before walking past her.

"Wait! Come back!" Origami pleaded as she fell to the ground, barely picking herself back up.

As Matt arrived at the roof, he witnessed Shido talking to Kurumi. Shido would notice Matt out of the corner of his eye.

"Spirit..." Matt muttered before rushing into action. He went straight for Kurumi's neck. This time, Kurumi moved to the side, dodging his attack.

"Oh my, what do we have here? An uninvited guest?" Kurumi laughed. "Zafkiel! Bet!" Kurumi chanted as she started firing shots toward Matt. Matt swerved side to side to avoid Kurumi's projectile attacks.

"Matt!" Shido shouted his name. As soon as Matt took care of Kurumi, he approached Shido.

"Why are you conversating with a Spirit?" Matt asked Shido.

"I was trying to reason with her!" Shido shouted at Matt.

'Are you serious? You can't reason with these things. You have to kill them.' Matt thought to himself.

"What nonsense." Matt replied to Shido.

"Brother, stay away from him!" Mana said as she swooped in from above.

"Mana. What are you doing here?" Shido asked Mana.

"I came to help against Kurumi. But it seems that's been taken care of." Mana smiled.

"Oh, how wrong you are, Mana!" Kurumi spoke as she shot the back of Matt's head.

"It takes a lot more than that to kill me if you haven't figured out alread--" Kurumi was suddenly stabbed in her neck once more.

"Huh? But I just... shot you..." Kurumi shocked, got her body tossed to the floor. She bled out and was killed once more.

"You did. It hurt." Matt replied to her.

"Stay here, Brother. I'll take care of him." Mana announced as she flew into battle with Matt. As they exchanged multiple blows with each other. One of Mana's projectiles went out of control and began speeding toward Shido. Just when it looked like his head was gonna be blown off, someone in an AST unit suit saved the day.

"Origami." Shido was thankful but also confused how Origami was able to get up here.

"Who are you?" Origami asked Matt in an angry tone of voice. Whilst Mana had her guard down, Matt struck her on the back of her head with his blade and knocked her out cold. Matt began walking towards Origami. As Origami prepared to attack Matt, he was attacked from above by a fire magic attack.
