You felt a sick sense of dread pooling in your stomach as you sat outside the daycare. You could hear the kids chanting up a storm, asking where "Star" was and why she was late to the daycare. Your hands gripped onto the arm rests of your wheelchair as your breathing picked up in pace. You felt a hand being placed on your shoulder and Freddy's comforting voice behind you.

"It's going to be alright, (y/n). They will all be happy to see you," he said.

"I-I'm not ready... Sun can barely keep himself composed around me, Moon can't even be in the same room as me anymore, and I'm going to have to answer a million questions about why I can't walk. I can't tell them what actually happened. I- I don't know what to do," you whispered.

"Do not worry. I will start the conversation and tell them to go easy on you," he said.

You could feel him start to push your chair towards the daycare doors.

"What am I supposed to say if they ask about my legs?"

"You will find a way to explain it to them, I know you will. And if you can't right now, then you can always tell them you aren't ready to explain what happened just yet. I'm sure Sun and Moon could even help you with a story to make it easier to explain."

You were just feet away from the door, Freddy about to push it open.

"I'm scared."

"You will be alright."

With that, the doors pushed open and you could hear the excited screams and cheers die down in an instant. Staring out at the morning crowd of kids, you wanted to shrink back into yourself and disappear. They all looked confused, some of them looking scared, even.

"Alright, everyone. As you can all see, Star is not doing too well right now," Freddy said, drawing the attention of the kids.

You listened to him explain how you couldn't walk anymore, how they needed to be kind to you and not roughhouse around you. As he talked, Sun walked over to your side and placed a hand on your shoulder. You gripped onto his hand, taking shaky breaths. When you looked over at Moon, you could see him shrinking back behind the main desk in the daycare. He wouldn't even look at you. You forced back tears as you tried to smile at the kids.

"Ms. Star? Why can't you walk?" a little boy asked.

Your voice caught in your throat. How could you explain to them what happened without scaring them? You couldn't just tell them that a psychotic rabbit lady broke into the pizzaplex. You couldn't say that you and Moon got into a fight, both not noticing the woman approaching you in the dark. You couldn't tell them how she came up behind you and stabbed you in the spine.

"You see, kids. Sometimes, when a star falls, they stumble and hurt themselves when landing. That's what happened to Ms. Star, here. She stumbled really bad when landing and can't use her legs right now," Sun explained.

"I-I was trying to see some of my starry family while the daycare was closed!" you quickly added, trying to add onto the story in your own way so the kids wouldn't get suspicious of you not talking. "When I tried to come back to Earth, I tripped and hurt my legs really badly. But Mr. Sun and Mr. Moon were very kind and have been helping me. I'm very sorry I can't play with you all, but I can certainly still draw and read stories with you."

"Can we decorate your wheelchair?" a little girl asked.

You smiled, nodding. "Of course you can."

As the normal activities started, you wheeled over to the arts and crafts table. There was a decent group of kids surrounding you, each of them trying to add glitter, paint, and other random craft supplies to your wheelchair that was vaguely silver and blue. Sun had taken a group to play different tag games. Moon was sitting behind the desk. He would occasionally meet your gaze, but would quickly look away. You could feel your chest tightening with each turn.
