Gong Jun woke up to his head pounding severely. His joints and muscles were aching. It was as though he had been sleeping in the wrong position throughout the night, dozing in and out of numerous dreams he could no longer remember. He felt cold; he felt unspeakable discomfort all over his body. When he opened his eyes, an unfamiliar environment greeted his recently returning consciousness, at the same time striking immediate confusion into his blurry mind.
"Where am I?"
He was alone in a dim and dusty room. Aside from a few old furniture and unused boxes, there was virtually nothing else he could find around him, save for a smudged window and a single light bulb on the low ceiling. It looked like a storage room of some sort. Nevertheless, even if his mind had been roused to alertness, the young Alpha still couldn't make any head or tail of his situation, why and how he was even here in the first place.
That is, until he tried to rise to his feet and discovered that his movements were restricted.
"...Oh."
The suspicious men who ambushed him behind the store, the weird-smelling cloth shoved into his face — slowly, his memories began to come back piece by piece. His state of mind remained unexpectedly calm the first time he recalled what brought him into this situation. But the more he thought about it, the more uneasiness began to creep into his heart.
Didn't this mean that he'd been kidnapped? Who were those guys and how did they know who he was, where he worked, and at what time he'd be working? Above all, what did they kidnap him for? He was just a simple student from the countryside who came to the city to pursue a higher education. Although his family wasn't doing too bad back at home, they weren't exactly rich. Would kidnapping a rich family's child not be more beneficial if they wanted money?
...Unless money was never their target all along.
"Either way, I need to get out of here first."
Taking a deep breath, Gong Jun took a closer look at his own situation. He was sitting on an old wooden chair; his hands were tied with some sort of rope behind his back. Though there was no mirror from where he could see his reflection, the dull ache on his head and body was proof enough that those people hadn't been treating him nicely while he was unconscious. Thankfully, his legs were not restricted by anything so at the very least, he wasn't completely immobile.
