"So after all that, he said alright?"
Ant nodded, rolling her eyes as Lucas shook his head unbelievably. "What an idiot!" he said, perplexed.
She laughed. "Tell me about it," Ant agreed, swinging higher on the swing. It was 9:pm and they were at the children's playground.
Although they were well over the age to be playing on swings and slides, they still did it. Lucas slid down the slide and went to climb the ladder again.
"You know, I see the way he looks at you," Lucas spoke, preparing to go down the slide again. Ant continued swinging but looked over at Lucas, confused.
"What do you mean?"
Lucas sighed, sliding down before walking to the empty swing beside Ant. "Descamps. I see him stare at you almost every hour of school. During class, during intervals, he's always looking at you."
Ant scoffed. "Let me guess, he looks at me with a murderous stare?" she guessed sarcastically, considering the fact he hated her a lot.
Lucas rolled his eyes. "No, he looks at me with a murderous stare. He looks at you like he wants to... I don't know, kiss you," he mumbled quietly.
Ant stopped swinging, her eyebrows raised with a smirk. "You're making this up aren't you?" Lucas shoved her. "No, I'm not! When have I ever lied to you?"
Ant put her hand over her chin, thinking. "The time you pissed your pants," she said finally, looking at him with a deadpan expression.
Lucas shook his head, facepalming himself. "I was 8 years old, Ant. Get over that. Just see for yourself, then. At school, keep an eye out for him and if I'm right, you owe me $5," Lucas challenged.
Ant snickered. "Alright. Just know you won't be getting shit tomorrow," she laughed, hopping off the swing and grabbing out a cigarette and lighter from her pocket.
She climbed the ladder and just sat there, smoking while Lucas swung high and happy like a little boy.
"Should we go for a walk?" Lucas asked, getting off the swing. "It's getting boring."
Ant nodded and jumped off the ladder, taking another drag. "Smoking kills, you know," Lucas added as they began to walk wherever.
"You do it, too, dumbass," Ant said, rolling her eyes. Lucas laughed and took the cigarette from her, taking a hit.
They smoked and talked, walking past some bar before stopping. In front of them was Simone and some tall guy and they were kissing.
Ant and Lucas looked at each other with wide eyes. Ant made the stupid mistake of clearing her throat, forgetting they were supposed to be quiet.
Simone and the boy instantly broke away and looked at the pair watching behind them. Simone's face went pale and the tall boy's face went red.
"Oh, Antoinette! Please don't tell Michele," Simone pleaded. The tall boy was still frozen in place, his cheeks red. Lucas snickered while Ant stood there, confused but also angry at her first name being said.
"Don't call me that. And why would I tell Michele?" Ant asked, her eyes narrowed. "Because this her br-" but before Simone could finish, the tall boy spoke.
"Just don't tell anyone," he snapped before walking off, Simone looking worried. Ant rolled her eyes while Lucas smirked, enjoying the moment.
"Who is he?" Ant asked. Simone sighed and looked to the ground. "Michele's brother. She won't be happy if she finds out so please don't tell her," Simone asked, her eyes watering.
