Joseph didn't even realize what he was doing. It was as if someone else had taken control of his mind and body.

It was only after his fist had connected with Lucas's face that Joseph finally snapped back to the present. Ant's eyes widened, wiping her mouth as she and Lucas were apart.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" she snapped, shoving Joseph before helping Lucas up. Joseph breathed hard, glaring at the both of them.

"You guys are making out at a party! No one wants to see that disgusting shit!" he spat, giving Lucas a dirty look. It was such a lame excuse, everyone in the building knew he was just jealous.

Lucas felt his cheek and hissed in pain. "Come, I'll help you," the brunette girl Joseph was kissing earlier said. Lucas smirked. She's hot, he thought.

He was too drunk to care about what just happened. The brunette helped him to the kitchen, fixing his face up.

Joseph and Ant didn't even notice them disappear.

"You've been doing the exact same thing, what is your problem?!" Ant pointed out. Joseph rolled his eyes, before grabbing her wrist and leading her outside.

Everyone resumed dancing like nothing even happened.

Joseph let go of her wrist, Ant yanking it out of his grip. They were both too angry to speak. After a few minutes of cold silence, Ant broke it.

"You're annoying. You don't know how much you fucking piss me off," Ant said, staring daggers at Joseph. He just eyed her in response.

"Well, you're a liar. You said you and him didn't have a thing," Joseph exclaimed angrily.

Ant rolled her eyes. "So what if we have a thing? What does it matter to you? Don't act like you weren't all over that girl before."

Joseph pushed her against the wall gently. "She doesn't mean shit to me. Does Lucas mean anything to you?"

Ant was taken aback by his sudden movement. "Of course he does," she replied, frowning. Joseph let go of her and shook his head.

"You're just like your mother, aren't you?" he said quietly. Ant's heart dropped. "What did you just say? How do you know my mother?"

Joseph scoffed. "She's the reason my life is fucked, and just as I thought you were nothing like her but you proved me wrong tonight."

Ant's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. She couldn't even talk, she was so struck. What was Joseph talking about?

"Playing with every man that crosses her path, you are just like her. You know, I really thought you liked me all this time," Joseph admitted, laughing.

His eyes still stayed cold and lifeless as his mouth turned up into a smile.

"I am not like my mother, you don't know shit!" Ant spat angrily. Joseph disagreed. "Oh no, you are just like her. That's why I stopped talking to you," he said.

Ant paused.

"Yeah, that's right. Your mother is the reason my father left. He cheated on my mother, and now she's broken. She doesn't wanna admit it, but it's true. Your mother is a fucking homewrecker and so are you," Joseph snapped.

Ant laughed in disbelief. She couldn't believe her ears.

"So you're saying I've been playing with your feelings this whole time?" Ant asked incredulously.

Joseph nodded, clenching his jaw.

"You filthy hypocrite, you've been playing with mine! You torment me at school, and then you start to get all soft, trapping me in the hallways and getting all jealous, and yet here you are kissing some other girl!"

Joseph gulped, backing away slowly as Ant stepped closer to him.

"You literally started ignoring me again today! So don't bullshit me and imply I'm some sort of hoe when you're the biggest manwhore I've ever met!" Ant yelled, shoving him again.

She was so angry.

"Fuck you, Descamps! I always hated myself for losing you, but now I'm happy you stopped talking to me because now I know how problematic you are!" Ant yelled before storming away.

"Wait-" Joseph said before stopping himself. He slumped against the wall and cursed his life. He made the only person he actually liked in this shitty world leave.

The alcohol and the jealousy were the ones saying those hurtful words. Joseph hated himself for letting them take over.

Ant forced herself not to cry as she walked away, drunk as fuck. She couldn't even see, it was night and her head was spinning.

She was not too far from home, she crossed the road, not looking properly. Next thing you know, a pair of headlights flashed, a horn beeped and a car slammed into the drunk girl's body, knocking her out.

Blood spilled everywhere, and the driver hopped out instantly. "Shit, shit, shit! Girl, are you okay!?" a middle-aged man cried helplessly.

Ant couldn't even breathe. The man's heart pounded faster as he heard no response come out of the bloody girl lying on the red road.

A puddle of blood was forming as the man yelled for help.

Ant's mind was blank as she lay there hopelessly. The ambulance had arrived, but it was too late.

A crowd was already surrounding the area. The police had to scare them off, as Ant was carried into the ambulance van.

Louis had soon arrived at the hospital, crying for his niece. He didn't have enough time to get the boys. They were still at the party.

Lucas getting drunker by the second and Gabriel fucking some girl in Pichon's parent's room. They didn't even know where Ant was. And the alcohol made them not care either.

After what seemed like an eternity, Louis was finally able to see Ant. "It's good to see that she has one visitor," the nurse said.

Louis didn't reply, staring down at his unconscious niece. Her face was bruised, and more scratches added to her scar.

One across the bridge of her nose, and a long diagonal scrape across her left cheek. Louis sighed, thinking of how much she'd been through.

The nurse cleared her throat. "Sir, we need to have a word." Louis followed the nurse outside the room, waiting for whatever was so important. He just wanted to stay with Ant.

"We don't think she's capable of a full recovery in this hospital. Too small. She might have to go to the nearest city, and stay in a hospital there," the nurse explained sorrowfully.

Louis sighed, knowing what city was nearest. "What happens if she stays here?" he asked, his heart hopeful. "Well... I'm afraid she'll never recover," the nurse said.

Louis looked back into the room, his heart saddened. Ant would hate to go back there after just running away, but it was what had to be done.

"Alright," Louis said, fighting the urge to yell. "Trust me, sir. Paris has a lot of hospitals, and I'm sure they will help her," the nurse reassured, noticing his hesitation.

Louis nodded. How wrong she was.
