THE SUN WAS glaring down on danica's face as she woke up, rather disoriented, in what she soon realized was her hotel room. immediately, the memories from the day before hit the girl. everything after that scene in the restaurant was a blur for her in the moment. danica could remember leaving, and then next thing she knew she was on a plane. she only really remembered group-facetiming max and lando, where she told them about her previous argument with her boyfriend. needless to say, they were worried for the girl. as much as lando and max wanted to scold their bestfriend for staying in her one-sided relationship, they knew that was not what she needed when her mind was busy racing, and she had a show to perform the next day. instead, they talked through her theories with her, offering their opinions and perspectives when she asked. danica just needed to know she wasn't making things up, and that others could see it too. max and lando were the only two she trusted to tell her the complete truth and not give her some bullshit response.

the call ended with a much more calm danica, who was exhausted from all the day's events, so as soon as she reached her hotel, she conked out. it was 10am when danica woke up, before rushing to get ready realizing she would be late for her morning soundchecks. she made it to the venue half and hour later, where she was greeted by her manager aria, producer finn, and photographer blake. the three of them made up danica's creative team, and were always present at danica's shows. their little friend group was very special to the girl because the four had a professional, yet personal relationship. going to work was just like spending a day with her friends, getting to do what she loved most- make music. danica believed they all had an equal contribution to her success, so all her wins were theirs too.

danica finished the first soundchecks along with other miscellaneous tasks she was needed for, before meeting for lunch in one of the venue's lounges with her team. their conversations were always very chaotic and gossipy- a fun get away from her real world issues. the escape to amsterdam was definitely the move- no cory, no stupid lunch dates, no crying: just time to breathe and heal. plus, the city was absolutely beautiful.

after a few games of dodgeball with her team (a tradition before each of danica's shows to relieve stress), the girl went to hair and makeup and started to suit up into the famous persona of danica reid- the relatable and chill, but confident and bubbly girl everyone adored. she obviously wasn't feeling that way, but she repeated the motto fake it until you make it in her mind about a million times before each show anyways, so today was no different.

t-minus 2 hours till curtains open: it was time for danica to ditch the rabbithole of distractions that tiktok could be and meet with her dancers to review the choreography backstage. there were about a thousand people wrapped around the building lined up trying to get to the barricade first. the dedication of danica reid's fans were unmatchable- they were like their own little army, and unlike many out-of-touch celebrities, at every possibility danica tried to interact with them- their unwavering support was the reason she had her career.

t-minus 1 hour till curtains open: danica was lying on the floor trying to calm her nerves, but it clearly wasn't working. she always got backstage nerves- it was no different than when she used to compete in dance, but now they were definitely more intense considering the huge audience was there just for her.

t-minus 30 minutes: danica chatted with aria, blake, and finn for a bit, mainly about her upcoming brand deals, and ideas for new music, before being called over to get mic'd up by the sound technician. she received her in-ear piece that allowed her to hear the beat and band while onstage, and listened to the instructions of the sound guys before she got into the elevator that would bring her onstage.
