"So it's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be really hard. We're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day." - THE NOTEBOOK, 2004

Four, wherein Jihoon and Hyunsuk were meant to share a bond, a bond that withstands the test of time.

Unforeseen Dance

In the never sleeping world, there were bonds, different ones ranging from family to work and fate plays a role in it, a major role and now it will impact on the peaceful lives of two people with zero experience in forming a bond, especially a bond of a lifetime.

Jihoon, Park Jihoon, was a tall, handsome, and successful CEO of a thriving company. On the other hand, Hyunsuk, Choi Hyunsuk, was his short, pretty, and efficient secretary. Despite their differences in height and appearance, they formed an impeccable professional duo.

Jihoon admired Hyunsuk not only for his efficiency but also for his unwavering dedication to his work. Hyunsuk, in turn, respected Jihoon's leadership skills, charisma, and the way he treated everyone in the office with kindness and fairness. Their working relationship was built on mutual trust and understanding, creating a harmonious atmosphere in the office.

One day, as they were working late to prepare for an important business presentation, the tension in the room was palpable. The air was thick with anticipation, and their eyes met briefly. In that fleeting moment, something shifted, and the line between professional and personal blurred.

As they reviewed the presentation slides, Jihoon leaned in to point out a detail on the screen. At the same time, Hyunsuk, engrossed in the content, also moved forward. Their lips met in an accidental kiss, sending a shockwave through both of them. Time seemed to freeze as they pulled away, their eyes wide with surprise.

"I... I'm so sorry," Jihoon stammered, his face turning a shade of red that matched Hyunsuk's own blush.

Hyunsuk, regaining his composure, shook his head with a nervous smile. "It's okay, Mr. Park. It was just an accident."

Despite their efforts to brush it off, the atmosphere between them had changed. The following days were filled with awkward glances and unintentional lingering touches.

The accidental kiss hung in the air, leaving Jihoon and Hyunsuk in a state of confusion and uncertainty. As Hyunsuk hastily excused himself and rushed outside, a mixture of embarrassment and shyness overtook him. The cool night air provided a temporary refuge as he leaned against the building, attempting to collect his thoughts.

Meanwhile, Jihoon remained in his office, his mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. He was taken aback by the unexpected turn of events, unable to shake the image of their accidental kiss from his thoughts. His usually composed demeanor was replaced by a sense of unease, unsure of how to address the situation.

The next day dawned, and the atmosphere in the office was thick with tension. Hyunsuk arrived early, determined to face the day with a professional facade. However, the mere thought of encountering Jihoon made his heart race. He avoided eye contact with his CEO, focusing on his tasks with laser-like precision, hoping the awkwardness would dissipate over time.

Jihoon, too, found himself struggling with the aftermath of the accidental kiss. He avoided being alone with Hyunsuk, busying himself with meetings and phone calls. The once dynamic synergy between them had given way to an uncomfortable silence, each one lost in their own thoughts.

As the day unfolded, the awkwardness between Jihoon and Hyunsuk became palpable. They communicated through emails and messages, the usual easy banter replaced by formality. In meetings, their eyes seldom met, and when they did, a quick glance away followed, as if the weight of their unspoken feelings was too much to bear.
