Jeongguk has gotten used to the life here, adapting to the new world and environment at a normal pace. Even though he didn't befriend a single human here as per his comfort zone—few nerd boys were his acquaintances when it came to hard projects and assignments.
First semester has already surpassed the half of modules and in a month they'll have a week of holidays before the second semester begins.
Jeongguk has already booked a flight for Korea on the day their mini vacation starts so he'll be there with his lover for more than a couple days and he's already excited about it.
Right now, he's here—writing about the nth page of his notes he's supposed to learn and revise before this week ends. There's a slight ache in his head but he just can't stop or rest because an hour later he'll have to got the kindergarten where he got a job to teach those mini Koreans some of the basics of Hangul and cultural things.
It pays him around 322 Canadian dollars for a month and that's way more than he expected because if he kept working and earning for the next two years; he'll surely be able to get what he wanted to and wished to since the day he left Korea.
"Oh my god—fuck!" The boy; his lover with whom he's been FaceTiming whilst studying (basically both of them studying together for motivation) yelps a little too suddenly—almost startling the older who immediately looks up at him.
"Ahh—sorry gukk; it's just—I just saw a cockroach and it's right there beside my bed!"
"It's just a tiny insect Tae—" Jeongguk sighs; adoration and affection flowing through his nerves upon seeing the horrid expression on Taehyung's face.
"Yeah I know okay! But it just—it cringes me out so bad! Gosh how am I supposed to study now!?"
"Wait—don't tell me you're doing to run away from studying again?" Jeongguk says, eyebrows furrowed and eyes squinting at the younger boy.
But the expression that taehyung had changed immediately into a sour one; his soft smile turned into a bitter scowl.
"Why do you guys always take me for a dumb unserious person gukkie? Please don't think so stupidly of me. I too can be serious about studying if I want to be." It's quiet after Taehyung finishes his phrase; the expression on his face turning softer as seconds pass by.
"You know I wasn't making fun of you, right baby? I was just..I was just trying to lighten up the situation for you and see you even forgot about that stupid cockroach!"
"I guess but you know gukkie, I really wanna show everyone that I too can study hard and score good—-and you know what! Let's compete with each other okay?"
"Mhmm what do you mean?"
"I mean—I want to compete with you gukkie. That will be motivating for me. The plan is that if I score more than you than I get what I wish for and if you score better than you get what you want! Is it okay gukkie?"
