For our whole childhood, me and joao were best friends. In highschool i started crushing on him. I mean he was just amazing. So in 12th grade i finally confessed.
"Joao i really like you- like i like like you" i said
"Oh" he blinked. My heart dropped that day. I lost him. He didnt talk to me after that. He ended up going to prom with the most popular girl in school magui, and also the girl that hated me.

But thats in the past. It's been like 6 years? Damn thats alot. But i have a special place in my heart for him. Even though hes not even my friend anymore.
I moved to barcelona for journalism - sports journalism. It's funny, when we were like 8- joao said.
"So youll be a journalist in barcelona, and ill be a footballer in barcelona! And we can be bestfriends still!" he smiled.

Now i think he has a girlfriend? I used to search him up alot but i stopped. It seems obsessive actually since we havent talked in 6 years.
But today im going to talk to some barcelona players! Ive been trying to put together a good outfit. I think wearing a jersey isnt professional or something so i just wear some baggy jeans, a longsleeve top and a black bomber jacket.

I finished interveiwing pretty much all the players, they are all so nice. But now- joao. He cried at his presentation. Which i found really sweet. Part of me wanted to go hug him but idek if he knows who i am.

"Joao see the girl over there- her name is y/n periera" someone points "she will be interveiwing you now".
My heart drops at the name. My first love. I dont know why i rejected her. I was leaving for madrid soon, i didnt want her to be hurt.
I walk over to her and by the way she looks at me, i can tell she knows me. She interveiws me, her dream. Im so proud of her. I cant stop looking at her tho.

"Meet me at the beach close to here at 6" i whisper as i hug her. She freezes but i let her go and continue with the day.

y/n pov
I was shocked when joao asked me to go to the beach. So now i find myself looking at the sunset. The beach is kinda empty and now i start to worry he isnt gonna come.
"y/n!" i hear him call out. I turn around and see him trotting down the stairs and coming to me,
"Joao what do you want?" i ask
"y/n can you come back to me, because i was blind to see that you were right in front of me" he says softly.
"What?"
"Ive loved you since we were kids- i was moving and i didnt want to hurt you so i rejected you. I love you still please" he rushes
"I mean- what are you waiting for to kiss me?" i ask as he holds my waist and helps me up to him and kisses me.
"y/n periera, will you be my girlfriend?" he asks getting on one knee "Your the one i want your the one i need im begging you please"
"Joao what is this" i laugh
"Promise ring" he smiles
"Yes ill be your girlfriend" i chuckle as he slides it onto my finger. We walk along the beach talking about everything we've missed.
He all of a sudden bends down to the sand and picks up and throws it at me.
"Joao!" i laugh "you havent changed a bit"
"i needed to keep the joao that you liked didnt i?" he smiles
