Another sunrise, another day of torment. Why do I even bother to wake up at this point? All I do is nothing in this empty apartment except rot away!

Wait, why am I thinking negatively again? Positive Nihlism, Y/n!

I jump out of bed in my day attire, because why the hell would you change in a situation like this?

Oh, right, the situation I'm in.
APPARENTLY there are parasites in the water supply, and they are contagious, again, apparently, so I'm under quarantine, same with my entire apartment block. Not all is lost though, cause my older brother is one of the guards here, so he passes me some actual food instead of those microwaveable chemicals.

Before I can do my daily dose of nothing I hear my radio chatter up. It's set on the same frequency as the one in my friends home, so I walk over to it.

- Y/n? Do you read? - Andrew's voice is emitted through the low quality speaker

- U-uh, yup! - I nervously check if the two green lights are on AFTER I say that... Thankfully they were.

- Good thing to know you're still kicking... - Andrew's voice is full of melancholy.

I gather my courage to ask him

- You say that as if something happened. So what happened?

The device doesn't emit any sound for a while. For a second, I thought the batteries died, and I just left Andrew on read, but thankfully that wasn't the case, as the radio lit up again.

- We haven't been fed for weeks now. Our food supplies just ran out, and Ashley is Ashley. You cannot make this shit worse - Andrew answered with a hint of frustration

- What do you mean no food? - I ask in confusion - Don't they feed you?

Andrew answers with a question of his own

- Wait, they feed you?

I mean, yeah? Why wouldn't they?

- Well, yeah?

At this point, the radio's are not required, because I can hear Andrew's screaming through the walls. A combination of "THIS SHIT'S SO UNFAIR!" and "WHY ARE WE PUT THROUGH THIS?!"
can be heard very vividly. Once the yelling stops, I can hear the walkies lit up again.

- ...What did I do to deserve this...? - From what can be heard, Andrew is one step away from turning into a crying mess.

Talking with him is already overwhelming as is, but now I gotta comfort him? He's the one usually doing that!

Okay... what would he do, what would he do...

Snuggle up to me and keep whispering sweet positives about me?

Well... I could do that. If I had access to his apartament, which I don't...

Unless?

I open up the balcony door and rush outside. Ah ha!

There's a stack of planks right on the ground here! I could make a bridge across!
I reach over for the wood, but the moment I have it in my grasp, it falls apart in my hands.

- Huh? - Is all I can say.

Every piece I try to take yields the same results. Just shattering into splinters and dust.
