Secrets

A howl in a distance was heard stopping the man whose hand was tearing her dress apart, a small amount of hope rise in her heart as she wished to rather die eaten by an animal than by these wild in front.

But as if the howl was an illusion nothing happened. The man again started pulling her dress down when suddenly a vicious growl was heard and this time it was just behind them.

Two men turned around, fear rose as there stood a giant furred animal. Eyes glowing bright golden, teeth sharper than any knife, claws long and deadly.

It was a black wolf but not your ordinary one; it was huge as a house. Both men gulp and slowly pull out their guns from behind.

Noticing this the animal snarled snapping to their faces making them lose their hold and the other two to leave the lost-beauty.

She immediately pulls her dress up and ran away, not daring to look at the scene behind where in one swift moment the animal rip off the head of the two men then claws another and bite the last one from back, shredding him into pieces.

The lost-beauty ran all way to her house, luckily it was past midnight and no other burglars were around. Once reaching safely inside she slams the door shut and slid down crying her eyes out.

By the sound of door grandfather came rushing to her side and holds her in warm embrace. At first she was panicked by the touch but soon realized it was her grandfather and accepted it and cry even harder.

Grandfather was worried to what had made his granddaughter to cry so hard. He thought may be Jack had said something but then he noticed her dress which was torn and falling apart. He noticed the bright red finger marks on her wrist, he didn't need anything else to realize the situation and he too joined crying with her.

Later that night she told him everything from beginning he was first confused to where Jack had disappear but as she told him about the animal howl and growl he tucks her in bed and stayed in her room not leaving her hand and sat besides her frowning.

He was very thankful for no harm of her granddaughter but he was worried about the people around. He was concern for her with humans but now there was another species also.

He had also heard about the stories of 'The dark-shadow' and was worried that if the dark-shadow was here then that means no living can survive. He wondered if the dark-shadow had seen her and saved her, if yes then it won't be good for her. Then he thought about Jack where he had vanished and with that thought soon he also drifted to sleep.

After that night the lost-beauty was terrified to step out of her home even in the lights of sun she wouldn't leave her house for any reasons. For her staying alone in house didn't terrified her but to leave it, does. Grandfather had to go for work but would return as soon as possible for her.

Months had passed she didn't left the house. She didn't know where Jack had disappeared but soon she knows when she heard a knock in her door. It was too early for grandfather to return so she was sacred to open but once she opened she was grateful for opening as there stood Jack.

But as she look closely he was now looking more mature. Strong built-up with good features he wasn't a boy anymore that she used to know.

They talked about all the things they missed, he apologizes for his behaviour and she told him about her decision to give him a chance and arrival at his home the same night before he disappears. He didn't tell her where he was and what was he doing but at the mention of that night his eyes glows just for a second before returning to normal.

Soon after grandfather came and was happy to see them happy together. He decides to get them married as he was getting old and want to see his granddaughter to marry before he dies.

The lost-beauty accepts his condition to marry and ready to give Jack a chance but deep inside she knows she wasn't happy with this decision and this marriage was only to please her grandfather. They were engaged on same night but decided to marry a year later.

Jack was very happy to be engaged with her, he shifted in their house as she didn't want to leave her grandfather alone and he didn't want her to force. She still has to step out of her fear but he makes sure to protect her and never leaving her side. But like always he would disappear every full moon. Every next day he would lie about his disappearance or simply ignore.

He confessed his love to her and how he saw her that day on forest, she wasn't angry on him for that he was grateful. He makes sure nothing is bothering her and would always tries to do everything he could to satisfy her, he was so happy that he didn't notice that she wasn't happy, they were living under same roof but yet have to share their first kiss.

Grandfather was happy that both are happy with each other, but the disappearance of Jack was starting to make him suspect. He was getting weak day by day and was heartedly waiting for wedding day.

The lost-beauty was happy with her life but not satisfied. She appreciates as how Jack put efforts to make her happy but still she can't put him as her lover no matter what. And the disappearances, it was also bothering her.

She would ask about it and every time he would ignore her and then would give her gifts as an apology. She noticed he was very short tempered and dominating, whatever she wants to do it has to be under his approval and it would upset her.

She still wears the mud-coal as she can't forget the night and Jack have no problem with that but sometimes he would persuade her not to wear it, times like that would make things difficult for her to accept the fact that she have to spend her whole life with him.

As the days were passing their relation was becoming more and more awkward. Fights and shouting's can be heard. The more they spent time together the more she realizes that she is compromising more and more.

One night she decided to follow him where does he go every night especially on full night. She acts like sleeping and wait for him, as the mid night struck Jack slowly wake up and leave the house, quickly she also follows him but not to get caught she follow him from a distance he was going into woods.

In a turning she lost him as he was walking very fast. She was disappointed and decided to walk home, but realizes she was standing at her pond; she once again lay down and closes her eyes.

After such a long time she felt relaxed in cool surrounding. When she opened her eyes she gazed at stars, the moon was hiding behind the cloud. She was feeling so comfortable that didn't want to go back so she spends more time there watching the water and sky.

When she reached home she didn't expect to watch such sight in front of her and she wished she hadn't...
