Batman's Robins

The Batmobile sped towards them in response to Wayne Estate's security alarm. It figures. Batman is on Bruce Wayne's payroll. So where does that leave the rest of the Justice League?

"Holy Moley! You just broke in and destroyed private property?" Captain Marvel had to rub it in.

Screech! Crash!

Saved by a distant emergency. "I got to..."

Captain Marvel raised his hand to silence him. "Sounds like Sivana's built a new robot."

"You can hear that too?" Superman stared at his companion.

"My ears may not be as sharp as yours, but Sivana's so loud, I can hear him anywhere in the continent," Cap shrugged. "Fawcett. My city. My villain. My problem."

Then he was gone in a red blur, leaving Superman alone to face Batman's fury.

Batman is just a guy dressed as a bat.

Superman tried to assuage his fear, without any success.

"Superman." Batman's glare chilled Superman's heart. "You have destroyed private property of law-abiding citizen Bruce Wayne without just cause."

"I have proof he kept vast amounts of kryptonite here." Steeling himself, the Man of Steel crossed his arms and glared back. He couldn't back off now. There's too much at stake. "I have every right to self-defence."

"You are assuming he planned to use it to kill you," growled Batman.

"Why else would he have an entire room full of Kryptonite. A rock or two for self-defence, I'd understand. But a room packed with it?" Superman bit back.

"Bruce was protecting you," Batman's gaze stayed firm though his heartbeat wavered.

"How so?" Superman called his bluff.

"The crime ring with tentacles in Metropolis, Gotham and Fawcett was buying up Kryptonite to use against you and Captain Marvel," Batman explained. "Bruce outbid them."

That much was true as far as Superman's senses could tell. "Why not surrender it to the League to destroy."

"That would blow his cover," Batman shrugged. "Since you've destroyed it for him, he'll let it pass. Just do not trespass again or you'll hear from his lawyers."

With a swish of his cape, Batman was gone, evading Superman's senses.

BB: Bruce Wayne IS Batman

CK: yeah right. And you're his new Robin

BB: haha

CK: Bruce is working undercover against the crime ring. Don't do anything to blow his cover.

BB: ...

CK: I'll be investigating the Metropolis angle. Perry received an anonymous tip.

Billy fell for Bruce's ruse but once he changed to Cap, it became crystal clear what's going on.

Batman's sent The Daily Planet info to help Clark put the bad guys behind bars, and to get Superman out of his hair.
