Chapter 18

(The Kim mansion seems soulless. All were caged in their rooms. Byun-Kook somehow fed Jungkook twice in these two days in the name of the child. Mr. and Mrs. Jeon called him to their house but he refused to go, he did not want to leave the room where his husband lived. Taehyung didn't even talk to Byun-kook. Byun-kook came out of Jungkook's room after feeding him. After closing the door he spoke to himself)

Byun: Why did you leave us, hyung? Our life became a soulless after you left. Why God, what did we do wrong to deserve all this? (He wiped the tears from his eyes)

Mrs.Kim: Did he eat, dear?

Byun: Yes mom, he have to take medicines. So I forced him to eat

Mrs.Kim: (patting his head) Go eat, dear.

Byun: what about you and dad, mom? You also haven't eaten for two days

Mrs.Kim: Don't worry about us son. Dad is going to company, we will eat after he is ready

Byun: But why, mom? Why is dad going to company?

Mrs.Kim: (sigh) No one to look after the company now, dear. Victor wanted to give his father break after becoming the president of our company, but everything turned out to be a dream.

(After saying this, she went towards the dining room to arrange the dishes that the maids had prepared on the dining table. Byun-Kook stares at his mother-in-law's figure for a few more minutes and then goes to his room.

After entering he closed the door and went towards his husband who was lying on the bed with his eyes closed. Taehyung opens his eyes as Byun-kook sits next to him and gently strokes his hair. He closed his eyes again)

Byun: Hyung, I want to ask you something. (Taehyung opens his eyes) But promise me first that you'll do that for me

Tae: (hoarse voice) You already know I would do anything for you. Now tell me baby what should I do

Byun: (cleared his throat) You have to join Kim Enterprises. (Taehyung sits up) You should take over Kim enterprises

Tae: Do you know what you are saying? I have already said that I have no desire to take over my family business

Byun: But situation is not like this when you said it, hyung. Dad is getting old, don't you want to help him with the business? Kim Enterprises is not a small company, hyung. And he's not in the old to handle everything on his own

Tae: Dad will not be happy if I tell him that I will help him in his business

Byun: Have you ever tried? Think about it, hyung. I am going to the market. I want to hear good news when I return

(After saying this he left Taehyung alone in the room and left. Under the guise of going to the market, Byun-Kook went to hospital)

Doctor: A week ago, when you came, you gave blood for the test, didn't you? The report arrived this morning and that is why I called you. Mr. Kim, did you bring anyone with you?

Byun: No doctor, I came alone. Is something wrong?

Doctor: Mr.Kim, are you taking any regular treatment?

Byun: Doctor, I am a thyroid patient. So I take the thyroid pill everyday on an empty stomach.

Doctor: How many years have you been taking those pills? Does anyone in your family have this problem?

Byun: 8 years.... No. But last time I bought medicine through my brother in law

Doctor: Mr.Kim, did you give those pills for testing when you gave blood? (Byun-Kook nodded, The doctor called a nurse) Nurse, did Mr. Kim give you any pills for test?

Nurse: Yes doctor, but we haven't got the lab results yet

Doctor: Contact the lab and ask them to email us the details and tell them this is very important. (The nurse nodded and went out a few minutes later returning with some papers)

Nurse: Sir, the results you asked for

(The doctor dismissed the nurse and read the result in full. After reading he said)

Doctor: (cleared his throat) Kim, don't panic about what I'm about to say. There is poison in your blood. The pills you take contain a slow poison chemical. The poition is already completely spread in your blood. That's why you keep vomiting blood

Byun: (little voice) How long will I live, doctor?

Doctor: I'm sorry to say this, but you've already passed the time to take the antidote for that poison. I cannot tell you exactly how long you will live

Byun: Can it be spread to another person by kissing or intimating?

Doctor: Our saliva contains certain types of chemicals that do not help spread it to others.

Byun: (smile) Thank you very much, doctor.

Doctor: Mr. Kim, if your nose starts to bleed.........

Byun: (chuckled) That would be my last day, wouldn't it? (By the time he got up, blood started to come out from his nose. The doctor approached him wide-eyed) No doctor. I'm fine.

(His head was spinning as he left the cabin, but he gathered his strength and walked to his car. He carefully drove the car to their mansion and went straight to his room. He carefully hid the test results in a hidden locker and walked over to Taehyung who was deep in thought.

He tapped Taehyung on the shoulder to snap him out of his thoughts. Before Taehyung could say anything, he put his hand over his mouth and sat on his lap)

Byun: We can talk about everything later, now I want to spend some time with my husband. I'm so tired can we sleep?

(Taehyung isn't in the mood to talk, so he gently puts Byun-kook on the bed and lies next to him. Byun-kook rests his head on Taehyung's chest. Both slept hugging each other. An hour later, Byun-kook opened his eyes.

He got out of bed quietly not wanting to wake Taehyung. He took paper and pen and went into the bathroom. He wrote a letter and kept it in the same locker. The locker had a password to open it. He suddenly felt like vomiting, so he hurried into the bathroom and closed the door.

Blood started coming from his nose and mouth. After vomiting he cleaned up the blood and laid back next to Taehyung)

Byun: (in mind) I hope you read the letter after I'm gone, hyung. I know, it will be hard for you to accept it. I also don't want to leave you in this situation but I can't do anything. Please take care of yourself. I will always be with you. This time I will not break my promise

(He kissed Taehyung on his cheeks, forehead and intertwined their hands. Soon he felt the darkness take over him and he closed his eyes with a smile)
