"𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐚 𝐩𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩."
You went home early that day.
A little stupid but, you needed some time to think. Your new job offer had thrown curveballs and obstacles your way and it all didn't sink in until your little makeup session with Veneer.
You lay on your bed staring up at the ceiling, starfish position as you counted the number of events and scandals you'd been dragged into.
First of all, your bosses were rude and snappy. But obviously one of your bosses took a bit more liking to you than the other.
You may or may not have slept with a famous interviewer.
A celebrity may or may have flirted with you for fun.
You'd been posted to a gossip blog.
and not to mention how you watched the celebrity who flirted with you literally kiss one of your coworkers on the head.
Oh and the little scandal that had happened not to long ago with Veneer which is why you're at home contemplating your life in the past two weeks.
Life in the fast lane was a lot for you. You could see why so many older celebrities had hidden themselves from the public eye four years after their debuts.
Honestly, you wanted to stay behind the scenes for a bit. Like the other assistants and stylists, get your money up, get another few years of college and work as a doctor or something.
You'd still have money, but be a lot more generic in the public eyes standards. But now, this little job pickup you took, that was supposed to keep you concealed had very much exposed you to the public eye.
it made your head hurt thinking about it.
but never in a million years would you imagine walking alongside celebrities. Were you that good looking that they let you walk alongside them? or was it a pity walk of sorts.
You couldn't wrap your head around it. Flipping over to aggressively scream into your pillow. You very much did not like Ritz, especially after he pulled that little love game on you. After you took a liking to him too.
Karat was obviously just teasing you since he had his priorities on Meringue.
And you just didn't know how to feel about Veneer. He could be sweet at times, but most of the time acted like he hated your guts. Made snarky remarks about you and got physical.
You didn't know if it was the post-dream affecting you, or if you genuinely could ignore Veneers snappy attitude and lack of empathy. But he was honestly number one at the moment.
You couldn't really get past the fact he had physically hurt you, but you could ignore it when compared to the other two candidates next to him. But you also couldn't tell if he was playing with your feelings, or if he took an actual liking to you. Which was kind of stupid...
You reminisced on all the past events with Veneer. How earlier in the day he had defended you from Ritz. And how every time you spoke to him, he had a hypnotizing aura that seemed to hover around both him and his sister. More prominent when together than when they were alone.
