Ro waited a moment before Andrew's mother got Scarlett on the line. "Hi baby,"
"Mama!" Scarlett sounded extra excited to hear Ro's voice on the other end of the call. Scarlett instantly started to tell Ro all about her time with grandmama. Ro smiled as she leaned back in the chair. Ro could hear Andrew's mother chuckling in the background at Scarlett's excitement. "When are you coming home?" Scarlett asked.
Ro's face fell slightly. She bit the inside of her cheek. "Hopefully soon, baby. We have a few more things to do before we can come and get you." Ro stated. Ro was keeping it vague – Scarlett was only three, she didn't need to know what Ro and Kai were doing. One day, Ro would sit her children down and tell them all about her adventures, but right now, Scarlett was too young.
When Ro and Kai told Scarlett about the Autobots, they kept it very G-rated. They didn't tell her anything about Ro's "death" or what really happened when the Autobots arrived. They didn't want to scare her in a world that already feared the Transformers.
"Baby,"
"Yes, mama?"
Ro didn't exactly want to tell Scarlett like this, but she didn't know when she'd see her kids next. "How would you feel about another brother or sister?" Ro asked.
Scarlett thought for a minute, not fully understanding what Ro was talking about. "Don't know... would they be like Isaac?"
"I don't know, Scarlett. Maybe." Ro chuckled as Scarlett thought again. "You don't fully understand, do you?"
Scarlett grew sheepish. "Not really."
"I'm going to have another baby, Scarlett." Ro clarified. "You and Isaac are going to be a big brother and sister." Now that was what Scarlett understood. When they told Scarlett she was going to be a big sister to Isaac, the excitement was out of this world. Scarlett started to squeal upon hearing that.
"Really, mama?!"
"Really." Ro looked up to see Kai approaching. "Hey, daddy wants to talk to you." Ro passed the phone off to Kai. He took it, sitting on the arm of the chair on the train car. She got up from the chair, looking down towards Tessa. She was fast asleep – and for the first time since they met, Cade and Shane were having a nice conversation without bickering.
Olive walked over to Ro, a grin on her face. "Why didn't you tell me?" Olive faked a pout. "You promised after Scarlett, you'd tell me right away. You did with Isaac." Olive pointed out.
Ro looked down at her stomach. "Well, I wasn't exactly thinking that I'd be doing yet another adventure with the Autobots. The day Bee heard the signal was the day I found out. He confirmed it." Ro stated.
Olive's eyes widened. "You only just found out?" Ro nodded. "Girl, what the fuck." Olive pushed Ro to sit down. "Aren't you sick? With Scarlett and Isaac, you were sick as a dog for months?" Olive asked.
