What About Postmates?

Jake woke up in a cold sweat, he checks his phone to see he's slept until 2 PM. He freaks out internally as that is definitely not how he starts his day. He feels the familiar skin crawling creep up on him before he takes a deep breath. It's just one day, he'll live.

He gets out of bed, expecting to see some sort of Johnnie as he walks out of his room, but it seemed like a barren wasteland as soon as he walked out. The tacobell bag catches his eye, untouched.

Jake grabs the brown paper and puts it in the trash. There's no way that's good food.

He's worried about Johnnie, it's evident that he hasn't gotten up since yesterday. And Jake was not going to have another episode all because Johnnie's in a bad mood, but he still wants check on him.

He walks to the emo boys door, knocking on it softly,

"If you have food for me I don't want it."

Jake frowns at Johnnie's response, opening the door. He's met to a shirtless Johnnie hanging off the side of his bed. Jake knows Johnnie typically did this when he's bored and sighs,

"I'm.. Sorry about.."

Jake was not good at talking about his feelings like this. He quickly loses his words as he tries to pick which words to use to get Johnnie to talk to him about what was wrong.

Suddenly he's ripped from his thoughts when he hears a loud grumbling noise erupt from Johnnie's stomach. He smiles softly, knowing this could be his way of apologizing to his close friend,

"You don't want food..? Hmm? Your stomach is saying otherwise."

Johnnie rolls his eyes and sits up on his bed, sighing.

He really is hungry, starving even. He hadn't eaten in two days because he fell into a depressive slope with winter arriving. Johnnie has always had seasonal depression, but it's never gotten this bad. Seasonal depression wasn't the only think the short man was dealing with.

While him and Jake were taking a nap on the couch together as they do quite often than he'd like to admit, Johnnie kept finding himself thinking of Jake which lead to thoughts he definitely didn't like. Johnnie's always been comfortable with his sexuality, so why would Jake make him even consider questioning it?

Jake interrupts Johnnie's train of thought with his phone in Johnnie's face, Google maps showing Jake's selected place. Of course he chose McDonalds, he knows how much Johnnie loves the chicken nuggets from there. Even though he hates how unhealthy it is. (And McDonald's in the first place...)

"We can get your favorite chicken nuggets.." Jake pleads, his eyes wide like a sad puppy.

Johnnie frowns, he doesn't want to be in the same car as Jake. He doesn't even want to be in the same room as him right now.

It's not like he couldn't survive without food, he did go a month without eating before getting extremely sick, but the way Jake's eyes met his made him rethink his decision.

Johnnie's always been known for not budging on his decisions. The only person that's ever shifted hum away from being so stubborn is Jake due to Johnnie's underlying attraction to him. He's aware of this, therefore he makes it a point not to cave in.

Was there really a specific reason to not eat? The only thing that's been weighing him down is his typical depression that he's learned to coexist with. It's been this bad since he was twelve, so naturally he learned to adapt to his spurts of doubtful and a lot of times harmful thoughts.

The other thing is his ever-growing feelings for his male best friend. Even though he swears up and down that he's straight.

Jake awkwardly stands in front of Johnnie, waiting from any sort of answer to his suggestion. He can tell that Johnnie's glossing over his options, and it's making Jake impatient.

The taller man starts to rub his fingers together anxiously, trying to find something to distract him while waiting on the emos response.

His eyes land on a shirt he bought Johnnie a few days ago, he had seen him wear it a lot since he got it for him. He's glad that Johnnie enjoys the things he gets him, wether it be a stupid mecklace or a rock that he found on the road. Apparently it's an autistic trait that causes people to give people they care about seemingly useless items. Johnnie never takes these items as useless and even has a tiny area on his shelf to put the small things Jake gives him as if they were on display. And if Jake gives him something bigger like an article of clothing or an accessory he always makes sure to show his gratitude by using them in his every day life.

On the other hand Johnnie is having an internal battle. He wants to spend time with Jake, get his nuggets, and have fun. He's never had a single moment with Jake that doesn't make him smile even lightly, except for yesterday. But he also wants to stay in bed and not eat, only occasionally getting up for water and the bathroom. Sometimes he wishes he could sink into the fabric of his mattress and simply exist, not doing anything.

Suddenly Jake gets an amazing idea while thinking suspiciously hard about Johnnie,

"Or we can postmates it so you don't have to get up."

He's so caring, it makes Johnnie feel bad for making Jake tend to him like a baby.

A few moments of silence before Johnnie just gives up, giving in to Jake's thoughtfulness, "Fine.. But don't expect me to eat a lot.. And don't get mad if I don't like you did yesterday."

To be fair Johnnie was the one raising tension in the room yesterday, but Jake did feed into his aggravation.

The younger man throws his hands up the air, celebrating like a child as he opens up postmates on his phone.

Johnnie can't help but to let out remnants of a chuckle through his nose as he watches Jake exit his room. Though as soon as he did Johnnie's happiness was soon replaced with a sense of longing. Every small moment with Jake makes Johnnie's attraction for him weigh down even more on his brain, it's almost consuming his thoughts at this point.

He just wants to get some nuggets man...
